I’ve never been in a 2015 so I can’t compare interiors and can’t tell what color this control module is. I got it out of a totalled donor truck to replace the one in my 2011.

Is this thing BLACK? Or like a Metallic Charcoal color? (Gotta order the correct color double-din dash kit)

For a dash kit I recommend the Scoche kit. It has a gloss finish, same as the AC controls above. Metra has one that is a matte black that doesn't look right at all.

There are a couple different ones, below is the one I have.

Fitment is a lot better than the Metra version and they use metal pieces where Metra used plastic.

Thanks man. I actually already ordered a Gloss Black Scosche one. I like the fact that they use metal instead of plastic mounting brackets.
They also sell the same kit in “Charcoal”.. hence my dilemma. I can obviously compare the black to the HVAC module when I get it in, would like to go ahead and order it if someone can ID the right color though haha.

The “piano black” Scosche or whatever the hell they call it matches well. FWIW, I am pretty damn sure Toyota paints their stereo surrounds on the 12+ something very similar if not the same as a black sand pearl metallic paint. The Scosche kit doesn’t have quite that same metallic effect at all but it’s gloss and black and since no sunlight really touches the HVAC panel to show off its metallic paint, you can’t tell the difference.

That being said, I chose the Scosche kit since I heard the Metra was garbage, but I’m still not impressed with Scosche. Don’t touch the thing without gloves or you’ll put fine scratches on it.

As soon as I can get a harness to install the 2015 HVAC and Clock I’ll be good to go.
