On my 08 v6, this is basically the temperatures I see. I think I've seen 195° at most, so I can't say what temperature would be in the red. 100° is where the gauge starts to register.

Yeah, after this experience, I no longer trust the gauge on the cluster....for me, the needle doesn't move from 180-210.....too great of a range with no movement for me. When it gets above 210, it moves quickly.

My Tacoma hangs out around 184° it was overheating for a short period after an offroading adventure when the original radiator got plugged with mud, first thing you should check if you're overheating! I figured I was due for a new rad anyway and replaced it, no problems after. I almost never see it get to the 190°s, maybe in crazy Florida heat and humidity if I get stuck in traffic.

Even before I replaced the radiator it still hung out near 184°. I may have the 170° thermostat, or possibly my other mods help a bit.

My temps have been varying with Florida’s wierd weather. Believe 80 degrees air temp and A/c full blast at 70mph I’m around 188.6. Above 85 degrees same everything else, I’m around 190.4-192.2 at or below 75mph. If I hit a hill it’ll peak to about 194-195.8 and hen drop right back down to about 190.4-192.2. Last week though we have an hot ass day and temps were in the 93-95 area and felt like 101! I was steady at 194.0 degrees and 195.8 on a hill or working the truck but it would drop down almost immediately or within a. Few seconds. Hope this helps anyone out. I’m pretty anal about my engine temps after a off-roading event where mud clogged my radiator :/

City driving? What’s your ambient air temp? It’s dipping into the 90’s here in Miami with almost 100% humidity and I’m around 192.2-195.8

City and a little highway. I’m in Houston Texas and it’s about 91* today. But it’s stayed at that temp consistently. Only time I’ve ever seen it be 192-193 is when I’m on a long drive out of town in the summer heat

    * Also mid grade fuel, dcsb prerunner, on 315/75r16
