    Good news . . .

May have found a companion for Treto. I swear, since Xena died, I know I am, but my Boxer is actually depressed. I did not think that was possible. When he wakes up, he still gets up and runs all over the house sniffing/looking for Xena, then sighs, and just plops down somewhere. Doesn't want to go outside except to go potty. He's not sick. Still eats good. Just seems lost.

Four month old Frenchton a couple put a deposit on but then couldn't come up with the balance. He's mostly potty trained already so the wife will appreciate that.

And, since they are getting hard to find, I lucked out and found Xena's breeder. I didn't know she had moved back east. So, I am on a list for another Toy Manchester from her in August. We have plenty of room . . .

I'm sure it's been said here before, but I love seeing all the pitbull owners on here doing the right thing with the breed. It beyond sucks they are black listed so many places. I moved out in the country and discovered that leash laws apply even out here now [neighbor 1/4 mile away that moved to the country to NOT have animals called animal control on my Boxer two weeks after we moved in just for barking at his f'ing mower] and when they came out . . . the boxer was fine but no pitbulls are allowed even out here. Now, I am NOT in a housing association so I'm not exactly sure how such things are enforced but it still sucks. Could be county wide?? Not the freakin dog's fault . . .

Dogs really do miss their buddies. My Lab Lola would just sit and howl after we lost our Corgi Beau. We had to go get another puppy. Couldn’t take Lola being sad anymore.

I took my dog to our developments park to throw the ball. I had him in the crate but didn't secure because it like a 1 minute drive. The only turn I have to make and the crate rolled over and came apart. Scared the dog and he jumped out of the truck! Road rash all over him. He rolled like 3 times. Didn't phase him, he just wanted to play fetch. Cleaned up his cuts everywhere. Didn't appear to hit his head. Don't think it warrants a vet trip, but do you guys think there is anything I should watch for? I've felt his entire body, he doesn't have any discomfort, walks/runs fine. Acting like nothing happened..20180413_105741.jpg

How fast were you going when he jumped out? I'd just watch him over the next couple days, adrenaline is a hell of a drug for dogs and its surprising what they can endure. If your riding with him in a kennel a lot in the bed of your truck I would recommend checking one of these out: https://gunnerkennels.com
expensive as shit, but I guess it all depends on how much you value your dog, plus it will last through multiple best friends.

Edit: also looks like a lab, those mother f'rs never show pain

I'm guessing about 10-12 mph. He must have been standing up, because I do the same thing almost every single day and it's never fallen over before, lesson learned. I don't have the bolts in the crate because I keep it nested in itself so it doesn't take up room in the garage, that's why it came apart.

He's a 1 year old lab. We were really close to the park, so I'm thinking he took the opportunity to speed up the process getting to the park by jumping out at his first opportunity. It's been about 3 hours now, besides all the stuff coming out the cuts, he's acting totally fine. I'm going to watch him really close.

I always strap my crates down in the back of my Tacoma. I've had one Lab launch out when she saw the river.
About 30 mph's face first into the parking lot. Cold river water stopped the bleeding real fast. That was the last
time I took her to the river or lake without being in her crate.

I got my boy Scooter from a Collie Rescue group in 2010. Every year this rescue group publishes a calendar featuring some of their alumni dogs.

In October 2016, Scooter and his little sister Shannon were included.
