You won't be able to make it pitch black during the day unless you get the military Eureka or Nemo tents which are $$$$. You'll be able to get them dimmed and people can't see in unless you just have a bunch of
no-see-em mesh and no rainfly on.

Fabrics don't even go down that rabbit hole because you run the gamut from basic nylon all the way to a dynema which is a kevlar type fabric it also goes by other names depending on the fabric manufacturer.

Took me a hot minute to figure out who the hell @T-Rex266 was after reading the memorial thread. ‘Tis sean266 (which seems obvious now) for anyone else wondering.

Must have changed his name because someone was stalking him. That’s the only logical explanation.

Trying to make it "dark" probably isn't for privacy, but likely is an attempt at reducing internal tent temperatures. Something I wish I had when I was camping in the deserts of the West. Even in the heat of day in the middle of summer here in the East coast, those temps can climb to unbearable highs.

Like @ovrlndkull said, it'll never get pitch dark. And you can bring light in, just by unzipping the windows. Even with the rainfly on the tent, a lot of light will make its way into the tent.

Great! I'll try to take a better look at it next time I'm there. And yes, that's their explanation for Dark stuff... to keep temp down.

@Redmann I agree, the more gear you accumulate the more setup you are the more fun you have. Not to say it’s not fun to have a basic setup.. For me I try to always make my life easier, even camping. So some times camping I come across a senario that I think “this could be done easier” and I go home and mod away to make the senario easier for next time. Mostly it’s in/around the camp kitchen. There’s something as little as flicking a switch to turn on rear lighting over working with a head lamp that’s satisfying at camp. Again that’s me personally, I enjoy the extra work involved modding as well. Others may choose a less involved setup and have just as much fun. With the people I’ve camped with every setup is different with needs and wants.

    Ya think?

Pre-welding, I used to have one household fire extinguisher in my garage. Now I have three commercial grade fire extinguishers near the welder.

Maybe I should try to hang from those boot binders. The blood to my brain might make me less stupid. :)
