    Jesus that thing is high.

If you expect to off road with a truck that high, just go ahead and get a roll cage: you gunna flip it, lol.

At least he didn’t jack it that high and keep the ifs with 6 different blocks and 5100s cranked way up...

    But anywhoo...

Seriously though, if you want to wheel with whatever truck you buy, try to get one more stock(ish) than that, so you can make sure the work is done right, or at least to your standards, lol... Most sky high jobs like that are pretty questionable, and very few wheelers go that high because the center of gravity is too high and you’ll more likely roll it. Stay low(er), and trim the fenders to fit the tires you want.

37s also overkill for 99% of wheelers. And you don’t need to go that high to fit hem. There is a guy here running basically stock height with 35s.

Anyway, I’ll step off my soapbox now. You do you and get what make you feel you’ll enjoy your new rig the most.

I didn’t buy that one I got one that’s mostly stock. Just 5100s and supercharged which is fine for me anyway

?? 37 is overkill for 99% of wheelers ?? Oh boy, makes me want to switch my 40s then if that's the case. 90% of the local crawler I wheel with and know are 37 or taller, heck there's one running 44. So that statement is not true. Most rig run tall tires with low center of gravity. Trim to fit not lift high enough to fit.

If you use your truck as intended: on paved or gravel road/overland with limited or no use for crawling, then yes 37 is overkill.

Okay, maybe 95% of wheelers, lol. But I don't really count mud boggin as wheelin, tho...

I grew up in the hills, and go to monster truck shows, so I understand the allure of the giant TSLs.

That said, I've seen plenty of giant ass trucks roll through a section only to be followed by a truck half the size, running 33's or 35's. My brother ran the Rubicon with 32's with his 22rte 4Runner back in the 90's.

I guess our definitions of "need" are different.

Nope, no mud here, all rock.

You can take a stock truck through Rubicon any day if you choose to bypass every obstacle there is. Sorry but some of us don't use bypass trail, we climb everything. Look at Mike from Marlin Crawler, tucking 40s on his long travel Tacoma. Built for rock, not mud using big tires. Tall tires don't always equal mud. There's a reason why some of us run "big as hell" tires. Like I said, low center of gravity with huge tires. Trim to fit, not lift to clear.

Just like when I lived in central cali and people say you need a 4x4 truck to make it up to bald mountain fire watch station. Heck, I took my crv (yes, my Honda crv) there and made it all the way to the top, using the easy back route. Should had seen the look on some of the guy's face, Kodak prefect picture moment.

But I agreed with you regarding large truck being follow by lower, more capable truck. Here in town, I see tons of domestic with their 10"+ suspension lift with 3" body lift riding 33. LMFAO. Then I'm behind them with my super low, fender and bed cut to cr@p with 40s. Riding nice and low, lol.

Not a 1st gen, but mine rides great on 37s. 3 link and King's, and I worked hard to keep it low.

Still got some steering wobble at 50mph, but that's a tire out of round issue, and will go away if I go faster or slower, and will go away complety when I finish the HA.

It's the defining factor, from what I've been told by owners of rigs being trailered into Moab, Rubicon & Johnson Valley or in reststops on the 50 & 80, whereever they were heading...

I was joking about the red neck mudder comments, btw, sort of, lol...

But I think you’re mistaking my sarcasm for a hatred of greater than 35’s.

I know the advantage of large tires for the most extreme trails, which the vast majority of people don’t run, hence my comment about the 95%, though I admit that statistic was completely made up.
