So what. The CV died and also killed the bearing?

I think if you flip those that's what happened.

    hm. Odd.

I find it strange how some 2nd gens front bearings go out every 30k like clock work and others go for 100k+

Yeah, they go pretty frequently. They'd be right on schedule if it was a Chevy Sonic or Geo Metro tho. I think that bearing seized solid and killed the CV.

Called it quits for tonight. Got all my stock manifolds and egr junk off. Need to make a support bracket for the charger since mine is missing, pretty simple straight piece with a right angle. Think it should go together pretty quick tomorrow. Since all this shit is apart right now I'm replacing some heater lines and such. Did you delete the EGR?

Frank didn't have it so I didn't have too.

Im going to delete it on the lil truck though as it has it. Looks like a major PITA to get to the valve and shit. But no major problems to remove it. I still wanna turbo the lil guy someday.

Huh I thought Frank was one of the years that had EGR still. Well that's neat. It's basically garbage, my intake manifold is so nasty from it and you can see all the oily carbon buildup from its runner into the manifold. Gotta see if Fry's Electrics has a 10k ohm resistor and I have to finish cleaning the intake plenum on the charger. I hope to have it whining and scooting around Tempe tomorrow night. Even filled the tank with 91 this morning after wasting as much if the 87 as I could doing pulls from stoplights.

Yeah was on my supra. Everyone got rid of it on those.

Frank is closer to a 97 than a 96. Had the SC compatible ECU the whole time..so..yeah. IDK.

Im sure its not doing any favors to the lil truck. I have some things to address on it to keep it running smooth in the future. But nothing terrible. Igor's parts are almost all here for the Timing belt and everything else im replacing while in there. After that Frank gets moved up here and major welding/mods happening all summer long. Be nice. Take Igor camping. Keep moding Frank. Drive the lil truck to work. Tacos every day!

Im excited to see if it will make a nice improvement for you. Mine woke frank right the hell up. So damn fun now with the gearing and boost. Kind of doubt it'll be the same impact..but it'll be an impact for sure. I think the combo of regearing with the boost is really the ticket. Why my dads hauls ass too.

I'm not sure what it'll do, but it's the same SC as what's on Frank, both Eaton M62 blowers. Most people who weren't immediately satisfied had the 3-4psi pulley and/or auto transmissions. I'm expecting it'll be noticable if it runs correctly haha.

Im sure it'll be noticable. Make noise thats for sure. With the manual that should really free it up and the higher boost pulley.

If it runs right..yeah..good luck man! haha I hope that goes smoother than mine has..

I've always been bad about things like that. I remember not having a bed frame for 2 years when I left the army. Never owned wall art. I went a year without a table and a couch once. Then finally got a tiny love seat and a TV dinner stand. When lizzy and I started living together she spoiled me. My house actually feels like a home. My bank account though...hard to save when you're furnishing a place.

    haha no doubt!

Yeah im like that too. We don't have a frame right now either haha lucky for me the trailer house is so shit she doesn't want to bother trying to make it super nice. we wanted a couch just never had a truck with an empty bed or couldn't make it to Billings to get one off of marketplace in time.

That said. Really does make it more of a home no doubt.

That’s pretty wild. Assuming it blew up while they were driving? High speed or no?
