Yep. Saw a Tundra on the side of the Highway 99 coming home from a trip last year. Same side. Long gouge in the asphalt leading up the the truck. Gotta be a little unnerving to have that happen at freeway speeds.

After reading all the posts about OEM LBJs going bad so soon, I got nervous about mine and I started digging to see when I replaced mine. It was 2 years ago and about 15k miles, used OEM from Camelback. Hoping to get some free time this week to check mine out. Hoping they're good cause I definitely don't have the extra money to replace them again yet.

Will be receiving my lowrange elocker harness and switch. Kinda excited but I'm gonna restrain myself from jumping through the roof.

Just put some newspaper on your head so you can jump through something in excitement. Just don't do what I did, have your gf/wife hold a hoola hoop and jump through it. She'll have you jumping through hoops all day

Interesting trail, might add this to my list.

@nj636 any recommendations on pulling an exploded 2nd gen bearing?

@Reh5108 replaced his right before RT as well IIRC.

Speaking of LBJ's, found this on my pre trip check:

    IMG_0361.jpg

Also cleaned my MAF for the first time in a couple years :anonymous:

    IMG_0382.jpg

And cut the boots off my 5125's after hearing the stories of them collecting dust and shit. A bunch of dirt came out the passenger side one.

    And it has begun....
    No coming back now lol

Just checked mine I have zero play, downside is my passenger wheel bearing is starting to show signs it needs replacement. Shoulda done that when I had the spindles off. Looks like those will be addressed in the near future.

    Stuff. Also things.
Around $150 each from Low Range. Just the bare axles.

Seeing as you’re an 04, you’ll likely run into what @Squeaky Penguin and I ran into regarding the bearings: It turns out that the shafts are really made for the 95-00 Tacomas, NOT all 1st Gens as advertised. You can still run the shafts on the 01-04 trucks but you have to run a wheel bearing from a 95-00. Works just fine that way.

I’m calling LROR back today to confirm that this works and to have them fix the description on their website. If you want to go this route, my build thread has the part numbers for the axles and the bearings.

You guys have any up close pics of your preload (why does that sound gay...)?

When I installed my Kings 7ish months ago, my preload was lower than that but rode stiff as a brick, so I lowered it some to about 19 threads showing I think...I'll have to double check. Rides much better now. It may have just been that they hadn't quite broken in yet though, I dunno....but that does look like a lot of preload to me, too

Does anyone have a recommendation for rotors? Or just use the auto parts store special?
