Thank you, sir! I'm going with an extended warranty so, honestly, I'll probably just stick with 255's so that I don't void the warranty. Thank you for the input and clarification.

Getting my 255/85/16 Cooper st maxx installed Monday! I’m running fox 2.5s with stock OR wheels and UCAs... let’s hope for no rubbing.

FYI simple tire will price match jet.com which has these for $204 a piece, plus they offer a mil discount. I ended up paying $177 a pop free shipping no tax.

Just a quick update on my ST MAXX 255/85/16 on stock TRD Off-Road. Havent had any issues with rubbing, don’t mind the small increase in road noise, and these tires are awesome on the dirt. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Still considering a lift down the road but I love these tires so far.

Thanks. I have a set of Rockblokz mudflaps, their slim profile works well for clearing the oversized tires.

+1 on the St Maxx's. No rubbing with a little more road noise but think the truck should've come factory like this.

Anyone have issues with these being “out of round” or not balancing? I’m at the appt to get em mounted and this guy says he has had a ton of issues with coopers lol.

My stock sr5 rims were out of balance. I had a pound or more on my stock Firestone tires.

A pound??? For stock tires? That is a huge amount of weight. I would be back at the dealership seeing what they can do to fix (replace) that.

No kidding, 6 or 8 ounces to balance is starting to be a lot. I'd have to think 16 ounces surely must be defect candidate. At least unmount and rotate the tire to make sure you didn't happen to line up a tire and rim high spot.

I didn't have a dealership mount my new tires, there is a mom and pop shop down the road from me that did the new ones. I watched him balance them. The guy took the dealership weights off the first tire, and found that he needed that weight plus 3 oz. The next 3 he balanced with the dealership weights and just added the small aditional weight needed.

Mud Terrains are sort of infamous for taking an ungodly amount of weight to balance, especially once they wear in a bit. Known a few guys who have just thrown in some buckshot and called it good.
