I painted my chrome grill with duplicolor.

Took a lot of clear and wet sand/buff to make it smooth and match.

Don’t sand it off. But you do want to scuff it. I used a DA with 220 grit. You don’t want to sand through the chrome, just scuff the surface. Chrome over plastic is funny- it doesn’t bond to the surface very well like on metal parts and it’s overall strength comes from being a solid coating. Once you puncture that coating it wants to continue peeling at the exposed edge. You have to be careful especially around the hard angular edges because that’s where you’ll sand through if you get too aggressive. Once sanded I used 2 or 3 coats of primer and another 3-4 coats of paint. All light coats expect for the last wet coat to get you and even gloss.

I'm all for that but I'm going to be poor by the end of the week as is :spending:

It's already sold, didn't last more than a few days in the FS section.

I'm going to give the rustoleum a go first and see how that does.

Again, great information! I appreciate it :fistbump:

    Hey Mike, nice Truck!

If you DO end up working on it this Saturday and want some company, I'd be happy to come lend a hand. I won't say I'm great with a wrench or anything, but I can bring a grill, make some pretty mean burgers if we want, and open beer! :D
