One of the perks of being a state worker, we need our holidays and rest time.

 

So Johnson's was the dealer I was dealing with over this one. The F150 I was looking at had a $52k sticker originally and the guy sold it back to them 2 months ago. I know the guy didn't pay sticker and Johnson's didn't pay more then $33k for the truck. But I get they need to make money, was just huge low end on my trade and then they didn't want to budge on theirs made me walk.

I am trying to special order a truck just because of price. I get I can walk away with $10k under MSRP depending when I order it and if I time the rebates correctly. My problem is when I build the truck how I want it shoots into the $50k region and I am trying to stay in the mid $30s or so.

 

random question but do you think a car seat will fit in the back? I've been looking at the super crew cabs just to get the full 4 doors. Not sure if the super cab would work

 

All this dealership talk makes me want to hang on to my Tacoma forever. I could probably get a really good deal on GM vehicles. Too bad I don't really want anything from GM.

My 96 Chebby with a 350 was outstanding.
'06 GMC,not so much.
That got me away from GM for the long run.

 

Mine was ~48k MSRP. I think I was a little short of $10k off now that I realize what the MSRP was. I was a hair under $40 in the end, I think. I expect you could get more off something on the lot since they're losing money sitting there. SuperCrew would have probably made it $2-$3k more I'm guessing?

I'm not entirely sure--haven't really seen a car seat in a while to remember how big they are. I'm 5'10" and this is with the driver's and passenger's seats in a comfortable position for me:



I'd say the space is very similar to what my Tacoma double cab had. Keep in mind the opening one door to open another thing. It's actually nice for loading stuff since the B pillar doesn't get in the way, but for people it can be a little annoying. I don't have kids, so it's ideal for me to have this cab and the 6-1/2 ft bed.

you know looking at that it almost looks like a car seat would fit in there... might have to try again. If its similar space to the Tacoma then I know it will fit. Wife liked how the Tacoma front seats lodges the car seat in place. But yeah hair under $40k out the door for a $48k sticker truck isn't all that bad
