They said it's very unreliable. I couldn't rent it that day because they were having issues with it. Tried the 238 and 938. Bought the lc9s which I like but it's bigger. If the p365 had been out I would have gotten that instead

Where are you renting them? I’ve never heard of that

Don't mean to jack your conversation, but what did you like about the LC9s? I'm looking at trying one out for summer concealment as it's smaller than my Walther.

I have one that I use for a summertime CCW. Accurate enough for what it is, and I've never had any malfunctions with it. I'd recommend a model without a laser; the button to activate it falls on the right spot for your index to activate it without shifting your grip, but the button (at least on mine) is so stiff that you're better off ignoring it.

It does have a long, heavy pull, but accuracy's never been a problem for me with it. I think I might have a picture from when I was practicing with it this past summer.

Found it. This is from 10 yards. Not a real long distance, to be fair, but I'm unlikely to need to fire it in self-defense from much further than that so it's where I train at.

Thank you for your feed back. I'm looking at the one with the green crimson trace laser and has the pressure switch in the grip, not the index finger switch. Do you think that would be better in your opinion? I didn't like the index finger button as I would never ever use it in a legitimate situation.

Definitely better. I have one of those on my shield and it's great.

Awesome. do you mind telling me a little about the lasers? How long does the battery last? Can you change the battery? If so, where does it go and what type of battery does it take? I'm looking at longevity too.

    Funny story about the lasers...

Yes, you can change the batteries, it's an easy 4-5 minute swap. Takes a couple of the little wafer batteries but I don't remember the group size. They supposedly are good for a year but mine never last that long. I had a post about it a few pages back.

Do you have to punch out the pins to get to them?

No, there's a pair of small allen screws that you undo. The laser comes with a wrench, which will be included if you buy one already on the gun.

I just watched a youtube video on it. I see the Allen screw under the slide there. Very good to know. Thank you again

at my range they have rentals, mass firearms school
i have small hands and it fit my hand well. trigger pull is a little long but it's smooth. everyone told me to get a shield, i didn't like the trigger. i liked the sig p238 but it's pretty expensive. i got the lcp2 recently and that's now my carry. but i assume you're bigger than me so the lc9s should be fine

The disadvantage that you have to keep in mind is that the state of MA manages to make pretty much every gun sold within their borders terrible because of that stupid 10lb trigger law. Shooting a MA compliant gun against a regular gun is like night and day for trigger pull.

2nd Q: would Holosun be a worthy step up from my Trs-25, or should I keep saving for a better red dot? Among the Holosun lineup, what would be best for an AR application?
