    Glad you’re ok! Sorry about the Taco.
    If the frame wasn’t bent in the accident I sure the recovery did it no favors!
    I’m sure it’s totaled. Airbags deployed, significant body and undercarriage damage.

    Yep it happens, no officers were hurt so not really upset by it . The cell phone thing is a real problem in all facilities they get in by bad officers, support staff, medical personnel , education folks and volunteers for the various programs . Yes they go through a magnetometer , bags are X Rayed and the people are pat searched but not strip searched soooo. We those of us that want the bad apples gone would love it if they would get the airport scanner system but they won't it costs to much.

    I can give you a better laugh .. we have 4 major institutions 3 male and 1 female all house everything from jay walking to murder, one houses death row but they just commuted them to natural life the other day but that is the housing as it sits. Depending on which number you believe supplied by the state we are only... 250 to 275 officers down state wide.. Seems funny since there is approximately 1000 to 1300 over time positions called for per week.... My math says umm no you are down a bit over 550 officers but I am not that good at math. Feel free to figure it out :} just remember we are a 3 shift 24x7 operation, and you have to account for sick, vacation, military leave and compassionate leave.

    https://www.delawareonline.com/stor...ar-no-sight-ending-forced-overtime/493610002/

    This article tells you they are now offering signup bonuses of 3k to new hires and 1k to officers who get people to sign up ... But yet they do not have money to hire more than the number they say we are short. It also tells you 50 to 100 officers are frozen (forced ot ) ever day this number does not include the previous calling for over time of 1k to 1.3k.

    Again my math is not real good but read this quote from the article:

    Although the DOC has hired hundreds of people since last year's deadly incident, it has not been enough to keep pace with the number of people leaving the department. Of the 223 people hired since Feb. 1, 2017, 48 have been terminated. The department also has seen 275 correction officers leave during that time. Now the math I do is 223-48= 175 , 175 -275 = -100 , But wait in the article it says they are only 260 down. The Number down has floated between 250 and 270 since I started with the department. Ahh ha you say so it is a staying action then.. Well no cause what they do not mention is up until Fiscal 2016 they have been cutting positions / not filling positions for salary savings . So far best we can find out they have cut 365 positions totally since I started and have salary savings 125 positions ... How is your math doing now :}

    Sorry it is a soap box but hey I can make you laugh want to see their new recruit idea ???? You know you want to :}

    https://delawarestatenews.net/news/doc-looking-to-high-schools-for-new-recruits/

    Funny you currently cannot get hired till you are 20.5 ( There is this whole gun thing...)

    It used to be 21 until about 15 years ago.

    How many of you figure an 18 year old with no life exp coming out of High School has the ability to handle some of the best manipulators in the world. Granted we sign up for the military at 18 but first you get training and then you have a Sgt or someone right there with you till you get experience. Here lol you get 2 weeks orientation after an 8 week academy and then here you go hit the tier your head count is 70 in 3 Out at court here is your keys and your radio......

    I will now get down of my soap box with this we are not the only state having these problems till the bleeding hearts out there get their head out of their collective asses stop pandering to special groups ...and their hands out of the public’s pockets paying themselves and for things we should not be paying for it is going to stay this way! In all forms of Law Enforcement.

    Evening Everyone !!! :hattip:

    Looks like I've got to get yet another flag pole , these winds are brutal . The 6' pole I recently replaced is now in need of replacing !!

    I'm going to try a 1"dia 10' stick of EMT this time and also get rid of those plastic flag spinners and go with metal ball bearing style spinners

    Evening. Highwinds and heavy rain right now. The whole house is shaking.

    Permanently installed our footbrake extension in the elva.
    Very happy with the way it came out. Left foot breaking is now possible.

    update: took a road trip 150 km highway driving, that rack definitely drags, I got 2 liters/100km less than I usually get on highway driving. Not sure what that translates into for your mpg down there... but usually I get around 11 L/100km if I don't drive too fast (under 120) and today I got an average of 13 going for 14 L/100 km so not going to drive around with those racks unless they are doing a job :)
