Bskis OVL tabs. BS Approved

This move west might be a reality. with that said I have the nod to do the following. Some feedback would be greattt.

1. Re -Gear Locker (Approved)
2. new rubber st maxx 315's (approved)
3. Cap (Approved)
4. Truck Vault (Not approved)

The thought process is to be able to have the truck ready to go at all times for the weekends with our camping/hiking gear intact. The only thing being left to put on board would be a cooler for the weekend.

That would mean relentless bed bars are off the truck and the Rtt Would be on top of the cap (lots of wind drag). So my next thought would be one of those vegabound pop up camper set ups or something like it thats all the rage now. But I cant see it working with the wife and kid + 2 dogs.

I guess after the above it would be Suspension revamp.

 

Yasssss! All good stuff. Love having the dry storage of a cap. Me and mo are pretty set on a GFC or drifter, just waiting to have both released so we can sit down and decide.

 

May I ask who approved such epic awesomeness and EAF point scoring mods? Whomever it was they deserve a pedestal & a corner of @bski22 heaven

I am still so torn on those campers with having an extra human with us at all times (even the dogs take up mucho space) ...Also I kind of like having the annex room situation and most if not all of the bed space available. but i have yet to see dims on the sleeping area on those campers do you know?

 

Yeah the options change when you add kids and dogs. Luckily with one dog we can just have her sleep below us in the bed. Just posted some in the drifter thread. I think it's like 80 inches with the extension and still 20 inches of standing space at the end. Lots of room in there

 

I figured the length was solid as i was just eyeing it up but its the actual width. Its going to be too narrow with Marley and if we have another yea well not even sure how that is going to work with anything being discussed.

 

Probably a tight squeeze, seems more a two person deal up there but I have no real experience.

 

I plan on my future camping setup with Luna to be Mom and Luna in RTT and me and Ziggy in the awning room.

Also, to be honest nothing is more ready to get in the truck and go than a fridge. Ash was not stoked on price (even as a CL find for $600) but she now says how amazing it is. We can pack all our foods for days from house fridge to truck fridge and go. No thinking bout ice, what will go bad.. From meats to fruits and veggies, even shrimp for tacos, it’s all good for days.

 

The awning room is actually a nice footprint (ARB 2000 - 6’6”Wx8’2”L) to be a hangout room in bad weather or a place to sleep with cots.. The mosquito room is nice as well for obvious reasons.. Good for green heads on the beach too. Awnings go great with a cap

 

I’m going to bring the fridge up again bc later been against it since last year. The awning and all that is definitely something that has escaped my mind and if I get the cap I’ll be getting that set up for sure. Makes to much sense not to have ...

 

Exactly yup. Awning don’t take up much real estate on the roof rack, yet can bring so much coverage when needed. The awning itself I don’t use a lot I’d say but every time I do it’s needed. Getaway from the sun, rain, and we’ve even used it to shelter us from snow so we could change after packing up camp and situate ourselves brushing teeth and feeding the dog. The added rooms are just a complete bonus. I actually just got a cot on CL not to long ago to try out winter camping in the awning room with a heater. RTT itself is to tight of an area to run a heater, unless you put it in the annex. Regardless never got time to test it out. But like I said for camping with kids I’m pretty sure mom and the baby will be in the RTT and me and the dog will be in the awning room. The fabric room comes with a floor and packs up to the size of an xl backpack.

Yea I hear ya.. it’s a lot. I tried my best to slow pick at the mod pile over 5 years now.

Btw my wife was bummed when I told her your moving. After sending your puppy pics to her she said we should get together. Maybe we’ll stop by and see ya next trek across the country.

 

We are always down to get out one weekend being that the move wouldn’t be till August. Absolutely if we are out there
