Craiglist scam?

Seems to low a price for it to be real.

 

Definitely unless it has serious issues. Ask to test drive, if it is a scam they will say something like wire us money and we will ship the truck to you or some bs.

 

For a 2WD 4cyl 5 lug for 2005, I can see it being 4k, definitely on the lower end, probably has frame rot.

Call them on the phone, if they won't talk on the phone or let you test drive it its a scam.

Occasionally though good deals do happen on Craigslist.

If you're close and have the time, try to see it.

A 13yo 150k 5 lug with cheap wheels and lousy pictures does make one wonder.

And it appears very shiny for the color and year. Cheap repaint? Salvage title? Or garage kept?

Is the background the real neighborhood, or posed to look affluent?

Another thing to consider is to ask for specific angle pictures.

It is a little suspicious they did post the VIN, milage, or any interior pictures...

 

Not that there is any thing wrong with 5 lugs.

I couldn't afford the other 4 lugnuts anyway.

 

Its suspicious that all the photos are cropped. Probably stolen from someone else's listing and cropped so you can't reverse image search them. I usually reverse image search the photos if things sound iffy. Half the time you get an exact image match on some dealership 5 states over.

 

It could be real. It's priced too high for a scam. If it was a scam, it would be a 2011 DCSB TRD for $1,500.

 

You from that area? Does that neighborhood look like something you might see around there? Does the landscape look proper for the time of year? Is the area code on his number right for the area?

If yes to those I bet it is real...

Red flags to me would be the odd pictures size, and weird description (he mentions power windows and A/C when they are standard)

Green flags the name listed as Scott (may sound weird but it seems the scams often times don't have names, or have female names when it is likely a males item)



As others have mentioned easiest way is to call if he answers you are golden.
