I do it in January--I don't wait for my mortgage interest statement or anything...I can figure out all my numbers without it.

So interesting thing happened to me the other day... Driving to my buddies place and I went to turn my headlights on while on the highway. Once the switch toggled over to headlights "on" mode the speedo just dropped from about 65 to 0 then back up to 65. No other lights and nothing else seemed to change. Something similarly also happened a few months ago where the e-brake warning light above the shifter selector tree on the cluster is lit up for a second as well.

Not entirely sure where to start on this one.....

I think 12mpg is certainly a realistic number. Like I said, my father is at that with a dually utility body with easily a half ton of tools in it at any given time. Nice truck btw and like everyone else has been saying the 6.2 sounds very good!

you've put this bug in my ear of looking at basically the same truck you have haha only issue is when you build it online Leadfoot can only be optioned on the Special Sport Package... unless dealer can really custom order it

The thing that I noticed when I test drove an F250 was the difference in MPG between a cold engine/transmission and one that was up to operating temp. When we left the dealership for the test drive it was averaging around 11, and by the time we got back 30 minutes later or so it had climbed up to just under 15. Of course, VIC's tend to read optimistically, but there was a noticeable improvement. So probably what you average for mileage will depend heavily on how long your commute is.

Well I haven't bought one yet. Still haggling the dealer over it. I'm looking at an F250 as well, but the guys at Rowe are playing stubborn with me this time.

Morning all. Nice looking truck Mike, congrats. What kept me out of a diesel when I had my camper was the initial cost, maintenance cost and the fact that it would only tow one weekend a month for prob 7 or 8 months. I think you made a good choice going gas

Nice F two fiddy Mike, I agree with your cost of ownership statement. It's the biggest issue I have with the oil burners. There is just too much expensive stuff under the hood. There are parts attached to the diesel motors that are as expensive as the entire motors on the gas trucks.

Johnson's has a lead foot pretty similar to mine on the lot. It's got a few extras that mine doesn't so the MSRP is a hair higher. This one: http://www.johnsondealerships.net/n...0a0e0a17360787b9c48b1767.htm?searchDepth=9:21

Honestly, I almost would have just had them throw a bedliner in that truck but I really wanted 3.73s and was trying to get the MSRP down as low as possible so I didn't want some of the extras it had. Here's my window sticker for comparison: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=1FTEX1EP4JFC58758

They told me the online configurator is weird because it won't let you do everything you can (like lead foot without the appearance package) and he once had a guy come in wanting to order a Raptor with an 8 ft bed because online it somehow let him.

One other thing--if I did it again, I'd have saved $1000 and gone without the tow package. On the XLT 302a, you get a hitch and all the connections anyway. All that package gives you is a hitch light and trailer backup assist, basically. I bought it for the coolers, but on the 10-speed I guess they all get an oil-to-water cooler so there's no difference.

If you want to see mine at any point, you're welcome to. I'm in Clarksburg so I don't think you're far.

I blew up an ambient air temp sensor within 1000 miles in the Ford, apparently. Although I'm not sure what its deal is, since the reading came back but the code hasn't cleared. They're going to look at it Friday. It doesn't seem to impact anything. I'm blaming it on the UAW--guy probably came in drunk because they can't get fired, dropped the sensor on the concrete floor.

Probably the weather we've been having confused it and it went into 'limp' mode

You ever talk to anyone at marchese ford in new Lebanon? Their service manager Richard is the best you will ever find anywhere within hours of Berkshire county. Small family run place that sells tons of trucks. I didn’t buy from there but serviced my truck there, always a loaner if you want one and couldn’t be easier to work with.

P.S. I had the 302 xlt and with some clazzio seat covers it’s not much different than the lower level lariat

    hahaha, there's some program.

Date = Mid April, Temperature = 25°. Can't be. Must be a sensor fault.

I haven't, but I'll keep that in mind. I think my parents bought a Taurus there about 20 years ago--only new car they ever bought.

I kind of like the cloth they used on my XLT sport. It's a pretty tough material. Plus, heated cloth is awesome.
