I wonder how to put an air filter on the LCE turbo kit.

And how they are hooking up the MAF sensor

You guys think the LCE long tube header would benefit the supercharger or go with a short tube like DT?

I liked my long tubes a lot over my short tubes. Those LCE are beefy.

If I was gonna go s/c, I'd do the LCE. They've been proven to make more hp and tq all motor so I'd imagine w induction they'd perform great

Cool. I wasn't sure if the supercharger would change things. I know the short tubes make more torque high end and long tubes low end, but with the supercharger I didn't know if it would mess up the LCE header design.

I'm gonna order the header soon. I'll see what the techs at LCE have to say.

That long tube adds power everywhere. Makes a pretty cool gurgle sound and the motor sounds smoother.

Resurrecting Old Thread.....I haven't seen anyone mention how the truck actually feels with the supercharger setup. Is it quicker? how much? Can it handle hills better? Can I ACTUALLY use 5th gear?

HP numbers don't mean much...want to know if there are things that you couldn't do before that you can now for instance. Examples?

I guess what I am saying is- Is it worth $3500 bucks? Hell that's more than KBB says my truck is worth (I know it's worth a lot more in our eyes).

It definitely makes a difference and the truck is faster. I have the low boost kit, and it’s not a $3000 performance difference. I was expecting more, I wouldn’t pay what I did for it again.

That said, I’m not taking it off, and going to eventually turn up the boost. Even with the low boost kit, my truck handles hills much better. It’ll stay locked in OD up our local causeways.

A Tacoma isn't worth a V8 swap in my opinion. Makes it too complicated, I just wanted my camping truck to have a little more punch. Now putting atundra 5.7 in my cruiser is an idea I like haha

Idk, having a 4.7 in a truck that weighs like 3300lbs would be sweet. Probably get better mpg too

I can't use 5th on the highway currently. It works OK when going down a slight decline when on the highway but as soon as I get barely an incline it practically nose dives. I think the gearing in the w59 wasn't well thought out. Did anyone from toyota ACTUALLY test drive these things before production? lol

Regardless I just want to have a little more ass and not have to sit in 4th everywhere I go. These flat faces are not helping as far as aerodynamics go. I know tire size matters but hell I just have 31's on it so it should be pretty dang close to stock since my speedo is still on point.

What gearing does your truck have?

    B02A = 8" gear 3:58 2 Pinion, Open

The problem is that i would have to change the front gears as well and the truck in my eyes won't be original anymore.

That’s your problem. My truck came with 4.10s and I now have 4.56. The gearing alone made a large difference, it wouldn’t downshift on highway overpasses after the new gears, it would simply unlock the torque converter. Now with the supercharger, it rarely even unlocks the converter, and if it does it doesn’t downshift ever.

Wouldn't that also throw off the speedo significantly?

Mine is like 5mph fast at 70. I think it’s a 4% difference. I have plans to lift and run 33s though, I’m still on 31s. There are different speedometer gears that you can change in the transfer case that will change your speedometer readings.
