I have a Nikon D800 I use for personal work and freelance gigs and a Canon 5D mIII I use at my full time job. I like the quality of Nikon better but honestly they're both great systems...where it really matters most is what glass you use. Invest in your lenses (good lenses)...cheap ones are cheap for very good reason.

Lightroom is a great program to edit on, I run everything through there or Capture One but LR is far more user friendly.

It was 70 for three days then snow flurries the last 2 days. It will likely get back into the 60s by the end of the week.

    '
I want to head west again soon, I miss it a lot. My family has done two 2 week long trips out west but its been awhile since the last one.

I know, that and how aggressive those racers are. Nascar is full of sissys compared to them

Yea it works by having 12v on both sides. When you turn the dimmer it reduces the voltage on one side and you are left with the difference.

This is a variable ground as opposed to a variable positive.

I mean..nascar guys sit all day at 198mph..haha no slouches. Might not seem hard. But considering they are in nothing but a tube chassis with 900hp and shit for brakes...thats ballsy too.

True, not saying that Nascar racers are lazy or anything. Doing 180+mph for 5 hours is tough. Just I don't see them doing that kind of contact lol also some of those jumps are ~20' in the air and probably 100' long. Would like to see a Nascar driver do one race of that and get there perspective lol.

I’d bet they try to avoid very much contact at 200 mph.

But I don’t know anything about any type of racing so I guess I couldn’t be wrong.

Lol right? He does okay even with a 10 year old Rebel xti:

[IMG]IMG_0047 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I borrowed the xTi from a friend for my trip out west, and my wife bought me a t5i of my own now. I was hooked after using it out west.

I'm still learning though, and still have a lot to learn.

These are some of my favorites:

[IMG]Moab1015_003 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

And this one I actually got with Brett's help again:

I honestly started smoking when I was 18 to stay awake behind the wheel after I put my 300zx into a tree at 2 PM in the afternoon.

Took 4 years to quit that habit. That said, I still need to smoke something on long drives, I would not have been able to do several 10-14 hours a day behind the wheel without cigars.

That trip alone I had two 14 hour days to CO in a row, then I think we did 5 hours to the meet up spot. On the way home I did 3-4 10-12 hour days. Some of which the only stopping was to sleep. Was rough, but worth it.

For 12+ hour drives. They are easy. Every time you see a rest stop. Pull over. EVERY time. Just get out. Walk around a bit. Then hit the road. Makes it go faster and keeps you awake. Fresh air.

No need for any of that drug shit or stimulants haha
