Is it possible you tossed some water up and got moisture in your spark plugs?

    Just throwing it out there.

Eh, I doubt that. I think I would be misfiring.

Top of the engine was pretty clean with the exception of some splashes of dirt

OP, if you check any electrical connectors under truck, get some electrical cleaner spray to clean it out and put some Dielectric grease in there before reconnecting, it's non conductive and prevents corrosion keeps moisture out......used it for years, any automotive parts store has both products.

And then the next real question should be; does soy-based insulation melt with any of the stuff we’ve all been recommending on it?

It shouldn't, especially electrical spray, it evaporates really fast, like brake Kleen......

So the focus has been water...have you looked for caked on mud?

(Just a fresh set of eyes on the overall symptoms)

there is mud on the under side, but nothing to write home about. Most was hosed away easily and there is just the left over dry stuff.

If it was a quality of engine performance I would be checking the O2 sensors. submerging a red hot catalytic converter wouldn't be good for them either. do this things have a maf sensor?

Intermittent wipers for starters, just bought the truck 2 weeks ago
I was thinking about buying a Subaru Outback because it was supposedly so high off the ground, 8.7 inches. Yeah, right, the all wheel drive car that can go anywhere. Me, I just wanted 4 wheel drive so I could drive in the snow. I did all my off-roading adventures back in 1985 when I bought my first truck, driving up the power lines and old dry creek beds.

Don’t you think it would throw a code, though?

If it was a total loss it would throw a code but is it was reading high or low it would tell the computer to adjust fuel application to bring levels into spec. With all the crap these things have it won't take much to set them off kilter.

Hijack. Corrosionx is good stuff. We spray it inside airframes and it wicks in between parts very effectively. It even comes weaping out of the rivets on top of wings, literally years after installation. Of course, 2 gallons of the stuff hurts the wallet bad.

DO NOT APPLY IT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM BEFORE PAINTING AN AREA. I had no idea it was actually recommended for electronics, so thanks for that info. I know what product I will be using on jetski's electricals from now on.
    End Hijack.

Unfortunately I don't have anything to add, other than being another TRDOR owner that regularly crosses streams and rivers with depths ranging from 1'-2.5'. I plan on adding the diff breather before summer picks up again this year, but to date I have not encountered an issue.

Curious to see what the issue is, good luck OP.:fingerscrossed:

At about 5k miles I went on an extended off road trip. We crossed allot of water as deep as you did. Are you absolutely sure you're just not being paranoid? I get that way with the truck occasionally.
