Smart Key Unlock

With the key fob in my pocket, the smart key unlock/lock system on the drivers door handle works just as advertised. I have it programmed so that when I grasp the handle, it unlocks all 4 doors.

The Owners manual says the following:
"Driver door unlocking function can be programmed to unlock driver door only, or all doors. Grasping front passenger door handle will unlock all doors"

When I try this with the passenger door....nothing happens. No lock/unlock capabilities seem present with the passenger side. Is this just an error in the manual?

 

Will not work grabbing the passenger handle. The smart key "touch" is NOT present on the passenger side, only drivers handle.

 

Thanks Mesojdm......so odd that the manual has that error in it.

 

Yeah, idk I've never read it.
Just look on the inside of the drivers handle. There is a black contact strip on the inner lip. Compare that to the passengers.

 

Yeah, I did that and that is what made me even more skeptical.
