2015 tacoma sport v6 , loud tick during start up

    truck covers usa roll cover, popnlock remote lock, iron cross running boards, p2 trailer Brake, rear view mirror upgrade with auto dim temp and homelink, yakima rack bars , goodyear wranglers, heated side mirrors with directional signal.
    I have a 2015 Tacoma Sport DC V6 4x4, with about 34,000 miles. Original owner, all service done and up to date. About 3 months ago noticed a loud tick when engine is cold, seems to go away after it warms up, took it to the dealer and because I thought it would be covered under warranty to find sound. They said it was dirt on the belt and wanted to replace it, I said no and said just clean it. They charged me a $140.00 and said it was not a warranty item...Wanted another $80.00 if I wanted the new belt. I was pissed , but paid and asked if they checked water pump bearing or alternator, they said that was not problem. The noise has gotten really loud, when i start when cold. Twice as loud as before,,,,Getting ready to take it back and maybe leave it overnight so they can hear noise, Just wondering if anyone else had a water pump bearing or alternator or something else go bad on there 2015. Do you think I should change the belt like they said because of dirt on it, I have not taken it off road so it's just road use......

    I have a 2014. I think I know what you're talking about as I have heard the same with mine; and have no clue what causes it. I have 103K on mine and it has been making that sound since 50-60k?
