I am planning to get this tune when it's back in stock. My 2 in 1 tablet/computer has only one USB port. Can I run this tune with USB splitter? OV tune website says (2 USB ports or splitter).I did not even know there was such a thing. Where I stand I have two options: ether buy a splitter on Amazon or drag my gaming desktop in the garage. I would like to hear your guys opinion on this. Thanks

I’ve got a laptop with just 1 USB port so I run a splitter (splitter is actually more of a “Hub” with 3 USB slots and a switch).. It’s worked great every time I’ve flashed, 3 or 4 times now. I’d imagine/hope you’d be able to with a tablet just the same. I can send a pic of what I’ve got but it’s been so long I don’t think I could find it on Amazon.

Another 30° morning & no surging out of @OVTune latest 1.04 release. Really enjoying the tune improvements in this release. Not to say I didn't like the other tunes, just amazing how Mat keeps refining this. Thanks for making this truck fun to drive, hell, easier to make the payments on for that matter. Lol

Is it possible to record user’s manual shifts in S mode using logs? This would give the user exactly what they want.

You knew the tune was based on a larger tire size. Not fair to complain - especially since you’re an experienced user.

If the USB hub/splitter requires power, make sure the USB port on your tablet provides power along with data transfer, otherwise you need to make sure you buy a splitter with a power adaptor. Most modern PCs and tablets will provide power though. There will most likely be a lightning bolt on the USB port if it provides power.

Yes. For some reason, my dongle / tatrix ONLY works with a splitter. Won’t work if connected separately. Weird.

Sometimes I read all of these reviews about the poor shifting and get confused. My truck on OVT shifts perfectly, no issues. I don't go into gears early, I can climb hills smoothly, the power is there when I want and need it.

Yep, I like 1.04 other than the WOT shift from 1-2 cutout. I have 4.88s though... To think a tune is going to fix a lugging around problem when you have tires that weigh twice as much and are 2-3 inches in diameter larger is ridiculous. Ask anyone who has ever geared a vehicle, it is the best thing you can ever do to restore lost power from larger and heavier tires. Sometimes it is like bolting on a supercharger... For me the gears made my truck usable again. The tune maximized what I already had and smoothed up the shifts. You have to pay to play! Think about it, the Raptor comes with 35 inch tires form the factory. It has a 10 speed transmission and 4.10 gearing to compensate for all that rotating mass. Same applies to the Tacoma. If you increase the tire size you also have to regear to get back to the factory gearing.

For the Tacoma V6 TRD Sport going from a stock tire and 3.91 gearing to 285-70-17s would require at a minimum a 4.56 gear to get back to around a 3.91 overall gear.

If Toyota would have put a 4.10 to a 4.30 gear in the Autos and a 4.56 in the manuals from the factory, I bet this thread would exist in a totally different format.

I have a 6"lift, 285 75 17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, AFE CAI, MagnaFlow catback, TBS, 4.88 Nitro's. The gears saved me. I will have the tune. Don't have a computer or any knowledge of all the install lingo I read here. It goes ZOOM right over my head! I build and fix things, and not with a laptop, so I need to find someone with install capability first! :)

The only reason there are issues with the KN filter is because people over oil the filter. If you over oil
the filter yes you will have issues, if you oil the filter with a light spray as it’s designed it will work perfectly and the o2 sensors are in the exhaust and have nothing to do with the air filter.
I have never had a MAF issue before at 560,000 with my kn filter or any kn issues,
    Or 02 sensor issues

Mine shifts perfect for a completely stock truck with stock tires. No mods. It no longer lugs because it's in too low of an RPM range with no power, idles so damns smooth, I've got no complaints.

Far more dislike attached to OVTune than should be when considering this is a guy that is working his ass off to put together something for a consumer on his own time.

Pretty sure Orange Virus Tuning is a business and since Mat owns the business, it is the business's time...
