Are they cheaper in other places around the country? find one cheap enough where the deal would eat shipping costs. seems like a lot of effort but might be worth it.

Man, $500 is a steal for a color match.

 

My 2013 is like that except I don’t think I can permanently disable it in the menu. If I disable it once when I put it in reverse, it stays off until I shut the truck off, then it resets.

Doesn’t make the view any worse!

Just cause you’ve orders doesn’t mean you can’t still look at the menu.

 

There are ways around that. Some people do that with the ect option in the 3rd gens

I am slightly approaching that point. I have officially confused myself and found some 4runners online that go figure 2018s are actually in my budget where I was looking to be at haha
My hang up is I want a truck, 4runner is the most truck like suv (in budget) I feel like on the market so might be a good compromise. Wife does like them so might work. Since NYS is considered a “green state” I need to look in other states that order in California Emission vehicles. My tricky part is I need to trade my current Tacoma on the next vehicle so I need to find a dealer willing to agree to prices before I travel there and that’s also not to far I can drive my truck plus the new one home without screwing with prices. Dealer here offered to do a dealer swap but said it be $1000

With ForScan, you can reprogram just about any part of the truck if you have the balls and know how to do it. There are ways around it, just gotta want it bad enough I suppose.
