I'm not an "overlander"

 

Your not anything atm. Get Ron back in ship shape man!

 

If Ron was running that still doesn't make me anything that I can put a hashtag in front of it

 

What killed these so called overlanding is when people start judging others feeling that they are more overlanding that next guy........

If guy A thinks that hes a hardcore overlander and then feels that others are posers.... how is that really making him less hardcore or less legit or killing "overlanding" for him? All is doing is killing the cool on the "overlanding" label.... guy A can and still should just do him.......
To me, social media only kills the coolness of the label

 

@Wheelspinner I already seen you on HOs pointing out that my rig is not running..... now you just straight rubbing on my nose everywhere.... thank you for the reminders

 

Exactly. Labels in general ruin everything.

Even "real" "overlanders" dont help when they buy into it themselves....... like buying numbered overland badges that my even my 68 year old mom can buy.....
**not criticizing the overland badges** just saying that it's all a vicious cycle and at the end the day nothing is really "killed" ....if you are an "overlander" you will still be once the fever for the "posers" passes

 

I’m not a fan of the term. As mention in the article it’s turning into a similar term as “Ricer”. Forget the word “Overlander” if you think it’s funny. It’s more about the passion.. what you do, where you go, leaving comfort, shows as soon.

 

Ron's is not running very well but it runs.....

 

I think you have it twisted. It’s not always the overgeared guy looking down on the undergeared guy... A lot of times it’s the under geared guy thinking lift, tires, RTT, light bar is overland AF. When the fact of the matter the under geared guys can not go on the trips I go on.

It’s a mindset and a passion you can’t buy online.

 

No one argued that..... but how is that "killing overlanding" overall?

 

I just like to go places and run over things.

Did you read the article or just laugh at the headline.. Honestly.

How that is killing overlanding. The mere term is being used so loosely now, the under geared guy I mention is engulfed in social media showing off his local flex pictures and newly bought mods. Tbh some picture quality makes the puck look cool but it’s nothing more to me. To other they see “that’s cool, I wanna do it too”. And the cycle continues with thinking cool truck picks makes the driver cool.

It’s not hard to see the difference..

If you don’t care than don’t be so defensive and feel you have to explain yourself. If you don’t plug yourself as an overlander your not the problem. I believe everyone’s actions and trucks speak for themselves. There’s no need to point fingers.
