Dyno figures lie all the time lol.
Every one of them reads differently, outside temps, gear used (notice they used 2nd), was it stock tune?

This is why K&N state *UP TO 17hp gain*.

This bit is important to note. There are going to be people who slap on an intake, throttle body spacer, exhaust, and headers, and claim the sum of total added reported power as being seen lower in the rpm band where they daily drive.

It is important to recognize that when viewing dyno numbers, we ARE viewing peak numbers

I also didn't look, but does the dyno sheet specify the dyno type? There's a large degree of variance between dyno jet and say, mustang dyno. And that's before we hit smoothing/SAE factors. Smooth out the line too much and you have a huge jump in reported power. If I'm not mistaken, industry standard equals out to about a SAE smoothing of 4 or 5

You can easily use a dyno exaggerate HP gains. For example a company can do the base line "stock" run in 100+ degree low humidity weather with no air flow fan being used. You can then do you "mod run" with much more ideal conditions, i.e. 50 degree weather with high humidity and with a high power air flow fan. In this scenario the base line numbers will come up significantly short and will exaggerate any gains in the mod run. In another example a company can do the "base line" dyno run at high altitude and then the "mod run" at sea level. again the difference will be exaggerated.

While the number are indeed "real", the reality is that you're comparing apples and oranges. Unless you know for certain the two runs were taken under the exact same conditions, I wouldn't put any faith in them.

People already know the base Hp for their vehicle so if a company lies its easy to see that on a dynograph

I disagree. Factory dyno numbers are (1) done at the crank, not the wheels and (2) you have no idea what the conditions are for the factory dyno numbers. I still stand by my statement that the only way to have a true comparison is if proof is provided that the two run were made on the same dyno under the exact same conditions.

Deleted my comment because I'm largely over the discussion and I think we're all about to start arguing in a way that just repeats what has already been stated and doesn't actually get us anywhere lol

Yeah im done as well, i was typing a storm had to stop my self lol. All i can say is gains are gains. Even if a dyno is incaurate it still shows a gain with a CAI. Even it its 1hp...

The box highlighted in red isn’t the charcoal filter. Isn’t that a resonator to muffle intake noise?

Just a little FYI about dynos, you can measure the hp at the crank on a chassis Dyno as well as the hp at the wheels

Use the S gears like a manual. It works. I’ve been doing since December. I put in S3 from a stop. It will go through 1st and 2nd and stop at 3rd. Shift 4,5,and 6 manually. Upshift/downshift how you want. You can even drop down to 2nd in a turn and have plenty of power coming out of it. Or you can start in S1 and go through the gears.

Dyno's don't lie, people do...some people here need to familiarize themselves with the scientific method. Tools are great...if you know how to use them...and they can be misused on purpose just as easily. And that's all I have to say about Dynos.

not entirely correct. the chassis dyno merely attempts to estimate at the crack via a formula vs an engine dyno....while close, its not exact.

I won't say you're wrong....lol but I do get why people buy the autos. Could be anything from not knowing how to drive stick (usually the most common reason these days) to not thinking they'd enjoy it in traffic/commuting to simply not wanting one.

Everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion and must commit to their incorrect decisions ;).I kid, I kid...lol
