Got my Lt265/75R16C Duratracs put on this morning! Couldn’t notice any noise difference except on the interstate. I hear that may change, but they rode nice!

I took my post down about the old tires with just under 3000miles trying not to break rules I was unaware of. They found someone that probably needed them from here so thank you guys for sharing!

I've got a little over 10k on my duratracs and they aren't any noisier than when they were new. But I am religious about rotating them and keeping them balanced. Every oil change for me which is 3000 mi vs. the suggested 5000.

I've been driving since 3k oil changes were the norm and then Honda started with the extended intervals at that time and eventually all manufacturers went that route. Oils have gotten a lot better over the yrs to withstand those intervals. But after talking with a bunch of different oil engineers and picking their brain I am still sticking to the old tried and true 3k interval.

If I change my own then I will do it when the oil is hot and then let it sit there and drain for a good hr or so. Learned this trick from Jaguar. We had one in the shop and the customer hated that after less than a week the oil looked black. We called a local Euro guru he told us to have him bring it in right before closing and and drain it hot and leave it draining over night that we'll be surprised at how much more oil drains out. So we did and we put an empty pan under it before we left. The next morning we had a little over 1qrt more of oil drain out.

It is never the oil or it's viscosity that breaks down but the additives and detergents and you want that stuff to work properly. The additives help with things like cavitation, suspension of contaminants, cleaning, etc.

Good deal I need to get with my buddy and see which one he is a manager of down there in Charlotte. See if he could work something out for the TW crowd.
