Very classy and professional way to do business. This thread has consisted of about 3 people having general conversation about hooking up a small powered subwoofer. there are currently 9 people viewing this thread (and I’m assuming you, the OP, and myself account for 3 of them) so I would hardly say anyone is “spreading lies” as if we’re going through every thread in the audio section just trashing your business.

Your margin on your products will easily make up for the two people here who prefer not to shop with you so I’m not entirely sure why you’re even wasting your time posting in this thread. Definitely not winning anyone over so what’s the point?

I personally would appreciate if you would let the OP and I get back to our discussion regarding his installation.

********* can do whatever they want. If you can read Josh I quoted Daniel. So accuse me of lies if you want but try to get your facts straight first.

This started off with an expensive product and an equally expensive shipping. I walked away after getting my cart to the order point and then thought lets at least ask if there is anything they can do price wise. There wasn’t. When with @destin_meeks help I found another option. I replied to the chat on ********* website as it was still open on my computer to give feedback on where I was able to source a solution to my problem and to let you guys know why you missed out on the sale. It just kept getting worse as ********* employees got increasingly rude ending in name calling. Everyone can read that in the chats you posted. Then Daniel called based on a missed call I placed earlier in the day and we spoke about the chat session. I came back to TW and tried to make light of the issues and show that my experience was not indicative of everyone at TT. I noted if you had issues that Daniel was someone to contact as he would do whatever he could (within reason of course) to sort the situation. I considered it done. Then tacotunesjosh shows up and starts stirring the pot and arguing with @destin_meeks regarding what happened in his case and you felt compelled to call me out and post the chat session as if I was the one name calling instead of your own employees.

What I take from this is there was an issue which your manager Daniel was sorting. Those of us in this thread admitted shit happens and there were some good people at TT even if my chat experience was poor. Nothing more than ONE or TWO experiences that were poor with an admission that there are TT employees that do care and will make sure you are taken care of (Daniel). So you did what you felt best Josh. People can read and they can determine what happened thanks to you posting our chats (which I have saved myself and decided not to mud sling by posting them publicly.) I do not believe that calling and asking if there can be leeway in pricing and then giving feedback after purchasing elsewhere deserves name calling. This seems to be considered acceptable by some at *********.

Not every business interaction is positive. In my opinion if things were left as they were before you jumped in Josh people would have seen this whole event as an oh well shit happens event with the knowledge that Daniel was someone to reach out to if things went sideways. Now there is a completely different feel to this whole event. So this is now public. As Daniel and I discussed I might have even cleaned up this thread a little if asked by TT in light of the discussion he and I had earlier. Josh the cowboy rode into town and now we are where we are. I would hate to see what happens if someone asked for a group buy or other discount based on my experience.

So thats where I am at with TT. I would have far rathered to say the positives I posted about Daniel and moved on with the install. So reply if you feel necessary but as far as I am concerned I want nothing to do with TT ever in my life. I told Daniel this when we spoke on the phone when he called the last time. I don’t want to hear the TT name or anything about you guys. I’m done.

Thank you for that feedback! But Daniel did NOT tell you to “buy your shit somewhere else” I heard the whole conversation. There’s yet ANOTHER lie.

Reason I get defensive is because I HATE when people lie. Saying it took weeks for a tracking number when it shipped the same day is absolutely ridiculous. But oh well, it’s done and solved.

Thank you for the feedback and very rude comments about me such as calling me a dog and for Daniel to put me on a leash ;)

Thank you and have a blessed day!

    Anywho

Another plus to creating your own harness is that if you ever want to put a 4ch amp on your door speakers, you’ve already built half of a t-harness to make that process run smoothly

I was the one who posted in this forum “buy your shit wherever you want”. Sorry if you got confused again. This claiming everyone is lying bullshit is on you. You keep stacking up the accusations of lying yet don’t back down when facts are clarified or misunderstands sorted. As far as any tracking numbers or anything claimed by another poster is something that has nothing to do with me so take it up where appropriate.

Now I did have a very heated conversation with Daniel after you posted and I did tell him to deal with his children and I did tell him to put his dog on a leash or else I wasn’t going to hold back either. That is 100% true. If you don’t like it then think how I feel to be called a liar repeatedly by a public representative of a company after I feel we had sorted things out (my conversation with Daniel).

This was a simple business transaction. I documented the whole thing above and with your chat postings there is no grey area as to what transpired. It involved some rude comments and attitude by TT staff. Like I commented above Daniel and I spoke and it was done. You keep accusing me of lying which if I was so be it but it isn’t. But think about this. If someone starts accusing you of lying after you had others in the same company treat you rudely you tend to have less patience. Then after trying again to walk away after setting the record straight you get called a liar again. When do I say enough is enough?

What you seem to miss is this is a public forum. Some people may agree with you. But if they feel you are out of line or you have no right to accuse others of lying that is something they associate with your company. So far I see a guy publically representing ********* calling people liars and acting unprofessionally. Then he gets upset when in a phone conversation not shared on a public forum he hears things being said to his co-worker that are insulting. You can play what came first the chicken or the egg all you want. But you are the public representative of *********. I am a consumer who called your company trying to negotiate a better price because otherwise I was taking my business elsewhere due to price. I followed up with your company with the fact I was doing business elsewhere and why. The conversation went downhill. So what if a customer was whatever you claim. You are still the face of the company as far as TW is concerned and people are looking at your actions as those of *********.

As far as destin_meeks goes. His interactions with your company seem credible. I don’t know if he is lying. I believe your company did ship the same day. Why would you need to lie? But I also believe it didn’t arrive when expected which is why a tracking number was requested. Just because you shipped it doesn’t mean it didn’t have issues in transit. I know it happens on orders I place all of the time which is why I use the tracking information to figure out what is going on. Once again this is not my issue but the accusations of lying are unwarranted. Unless you can prove through the tracking history that it was in his hands before the tracking number was requested there is no proof that he is lying. Your only leg to stand on is you have information that it shipped on the day you claim. Either way he is happy with your product as he has claimed and it is water under the bridge. It shipped he didn’t get it on time but you call him a liar. Now I will be quite clear on this. Daniel said there are some people who are paid to spread stuff about your company. He said this appears to be the case referring to destin_meeks. Those are pretty big accusations to me. I would hate to think there are competitors who do this. But if it is the case that is a pretty bad situation. I do not agree that in this case that is what has happened. But that is my opinion.

Josh you are doing what you feel is right. But I have not lied in this thread anywhere. As such I do not appreciate being called one publically. When I spoke to Daniel when he called initially and he said he would pull the chat logs I asked him to read them first. I told him to read them and make his determination on what was said based on them and not what I had reiterated in our conversation. I told him if I was an asshole and that’s how he read it then that’s the conclusion he should come to but not to base his option solely on our conversation. I have played fair with TT. I don’t believe anything said anywhere in this thread prior to your joining it was so malicious that your response was warranted. I don’t believe your image as a company was tarnished more so than by your actions.

Such a simple request for some pricing help turned into this. Think about that for a minute. Accusations of lying. Claims of paid persons slandering your company. Public shaming or attempts at the least. Threats to post on your company website (what you intend to post or what you think this will accomplish I have no clue). If you had just left sleeping dogs lie any “poor” impressions anyone had posted about TT wouldn’t be even be read by tomorrow. But now this is a thread people are reading. Judgements will be made of me. Judgements will be made of *********.

This whole thing is ridiculous. From a thread on installing a hideaway and a consumer who really wanted to buy your harness but balked at his landed cost to all of this. I should have just listened to others suggestions for installing and not bothered to call you guys. Lesson learned. We won’t have this happen again and we all know why. If you are still butthurt have Daniel call me again. At least initially Daniel and I had a positive conversation that was professional. But you and I won’t find common ground as long as you keep accusing others of things I don’t feel you have the proof to make stick. Once again we are done. I have no interest to continue. But if you continue to slander me we are going to have an issue. I hope respect can return to this thread.

I kept wondering where you found all of your information. Knowing you are a Geeksquad explains a lot. Thanks for the help. I think we will have a tidy install at the end and I can’t wait to hear the whole thing when it’s done. That was the whole point of the thread wasn’t it? Thanks again. By the way I added your Metra part numbers to the original post and gave you credit.

I don’t want to think about audio anymore. I want to be done this install and forget about it.

I find it hard to believe anyone is paid to turn customers away from Taco Tunes. From reading this thread, it seems TT can turn customers away on their own. I know I won’t be giving them any of my money.

Please don’t come to this conclusion based on this thread. Like I tried posting earlier there are some good people with the company. While I am not impressed with how things have transpired or the actions of some be open minded. Listen to everyone and don’t overreact.

Regardless of all that transpired I find it silly that someone would use Amazon as a competitor for prices. A lot of manufacturers won’t even warranty items bought off amazon due to pricing and other reasons.

OP, you must really like to argue online, I don’t mean it offensively but if that online chat had gone that way initially for me I would’ve just closed the tab and saved myself any wasted time and buy elsewhere.

Can we let sleeping dogs lie? Seriously we don’t need the pot stirred. If you want to keep this going do it privately.

    Update:
So I just finished the install. WOW! I was excited after the tweeter upgrade and then again with the Kicker CS door speaker upgrade. The Kicker hideaway makes a similar jump in sound performance in my opinion. I am not a total audio geek like some but damn this thing sounds awesome now. The hideaway gives the punch from the bass that all of the other upgrades were missing. On songs with a heavy bass that punches hard the hideaway makes them come alive. The tweeter and CS upgrade while great lacks bass until higher volume. With the hideaway it just fills in what you didn’t know you were missing.

How do you like the fit under the driver’s side seat? Does it stick out from behind the seat very much? Is the seat still able to slide back and forth without contacting the speaker unit?

My original intent was under the passenger seat which won’t work due to a crossmember under there. Under the drivers seat it is snug but it fits nicely under there. I put the controls end of the hideaway to the front so I can adjust anything by moving the seat all of the way back. I used velcro to keep it in place and a piece of heavy paper to slide it in and then removed the paper for the velcro to hook in. This was literally the LAST thing I did after all connections and testing. The seat itself moves back and forth freely after the install but there may be some slight rubbing of the seat heater / seat sensor wiring. You have to move the seat fully forward to slide the hideaway under the seat and then fully back to do final position. I left 1.5 - 2” clearance between the hideaway to the “hump” at the front of the seat to be able to use the controls on the hideaway if adjustment is ever needed. At the back the hideaway is fully covered by the seat when the seat is moved fully forward.

You have no idea. I was very very happy with the original Tweeter and CS upgrade. This is truly the icing on the cake. I was very happy with the stock system but then again I am not a big audiophile I just like a good sound. At each stage of the upgrade starting with the Subaru tweeters I was very happy and could have stopped there. But each stage I added to the upgrade it kept getting even better. So when someone suggested the hideaway I though what the hell. I am so glad I did. It really finishes off the other parts of the upgrade. First thing I did after the install and initial tuning was to turn the bass down on the head unit and let the Hideaway do its part. I wish I had everything finished before my trip last week but on the flip side I truly know the limitations of the system without the hideaway so I can give a true comparison to the upgrade. Last night at 3am (I am on nights this week and last night was my day off) I am driving through the county trying out every song I can think that has a decent bass punch and then switching to less bass driven songs. The Hideaway can hit hard enough to make songs punch without resorting to turning the volume. I say that but due to the fuller sound I end up cranking it anyway.

Overall I would say the stock system with the tweeter and door speaker upgrade is great. But it isn’t quite complete at the low end. The Hideaway pulls it all together. For those who stop at any point in this tweeter / door / powered sub upgrades you will have a great sound compared to not doing it. But each step will go that much further even though you were happy stopping at the last step.

To be honest it really comes alive once you add the powered sub. It still is no full system upgrade but for the money invested I think it is stellar.
