I will have to look around and see if I can find that article again. IIRC the difference is more necessity than choice by Toyota, the remoteness of the plant, lack of nearby railroads, and limited time of the border crossing hours all leave no choice but for minimal automation.

Texas tacos are filled with corn and a bunch of other veggies besides meat, Mexican tacos are much better.

    Haha! It would be hilarious.

With the battery, gas tank, and my fat ass on the left side, I'm sure there is some lean, but I haven't noticed it when just eyeballing things.

8 miatas (na, nb, nc - all gen), 2 mazda 3, 1 mazda5. Out of all of them, my 13Mazdaspeed3, 94NA R, and 04 MSM were the best quality, and the mazda 5 (13) was the worst.

Yep I remember reading the article.

This question has been asked a few times before in the 3rd gen section and I think I remember more people having problem trucks out of the Texas plant. Although they do produce more. My truck was built in Mexico and I haven’t had any problems

Probably nobody on this board has access to any meaningful statistics on rework percentages and other things that tell you how well a factory is running, but there's always gonna be some folks who decide the Texas plant makes better trucks because racism

agreed....out USA problem is the auto unions in this country.....workers can do a shitty job and have job security for 20 years because the unions make it damn near impossible to fire them........Mexican labor is cheap, but they stand in line waiting for someone to be sick, not show up or leave the job..... then they are replaced.....turn over is very low in Mexican factories.....

Yours sound good. Ive had “Texas Tacos” as a recipe item, and there’s a wierd combination of veggies and meat in them. Mexican fish tacos on the beach in San Felipe, and for meat, seasoned carne asada or carnitas tacos can’t be beat! But maybe they can by that one Texan’s briskut tacos! :)

While I can agree with some of your statement, who really is to blame? Do you blame the workers for making a few mistakes here and there? Do you blame the quality control who are suppose to stop and correct these problems when they see them? Or do you blame the company, who’s suppose to oversee every part of the operation and are branding their name on the product?

I just recently got a new job building tires in a plant. It’s a union job. The union really fights hard to make sure we are all taken care of. I also just got a old co-worker a salary job at the plant (non union) the difference in the cost of healthcare is huge. She pays 4 times what I do. Our quality control is ran by non union workers. If bad tires are coming out of the plant are you gonna blame the union for that?

Tacomas that are having more problems are less gooder than the Tacomas that are having less problems...

But they are all good trucks, unless they are less good than the better trucks....

But rear drum brakes are just as good as something other than drums.

What does Consumer Reports have to say about this?.....brb

The Mexican ones have the spicier engine and the USA ones have a softer ride.

LOL - Just look at the environment the two are photographed in. The Taco is in a rougher looking environment while the Ridgeline is in a less intimidating environment. Photographed to cater to their targeted audience. I'm telling you, these marketing nuances are not by accident.
