    I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY TODAY!!!!! Dream come true for me. Last minute decided to apply and actually ended up getting accepted. Never thought this day would come! If i follow all the way through I come out as an unlimited tonnage liscenced captain!!!!!

    I wasnt their fist pick but I was in the next round to be accepted to go to a prep academy for a year, then to the academy. 1 out of nine in the whole U.S. for the prep school offer. It'll take me 5 yrs to get my bachelors but I think its just gonna make me that much more prepared. Its an all expense paid everything.....even the prep school. Oh and the prep school is in New Mexico and its supposed to be like the "West Point of the West" Un-freakin-believable that this actually happened to me.

    Congrats! My buddy is in the Merchant Marines right now. He was at sea for 2 months, came home for 2 weeks, and is now currently at sea for 8 months. He absolutely loves it.
