I posted the dyno results for the previous generation Tacoma because I do not have a dyno chart for the current Tacoma. If additional information becomes available I will revisit this thread to post it.

Wow. Way to encourage vendors to come on here and share intel. Act like a jackass to them. Seems like a solid strategy.

No shit. This guy doesn't have a clue what flowmaster is up to when it comes to dyno numbers and testing. Keep running your mouth and being negative somewhere else. Let the vendors show what their systems can do. Even better they actually SHOW what their products can do instead of just spouting off b.s...

    Surprised nobody mentioned this yet.

Just drill a small hole anywhere in your exhaust and it will sound mean, and save you a ton of money on an upgrade!

    Spouting off BS?

Flowmaster makes some of the most restrictive exhausts there is for cars--well muscle cars.
15 horsepower on a stock v6 tacoma... from a cat back? Yeah I don't think so. Your exhaust is limited to it's most restrictive point.

I've been a muscle car guy long before I had a tacoma. And I'll be 100% truthful here, I have never verified flowmaster's claims on a dyno because each trip I'd make to the dyno was strictly a tuning run. But I can't see them being the most restrictive because there's not much inside them. Just a few baffles. And that exhaust note from flowmaster is damn near synonymous with muscle. There's got to be a reason that many people r7n them.

A baffle that slows down exhaust exiting the pipe, which in turn lessens scavenging.
My small block made 12rwhp more with magnaflows--same everything.. big block I have never had them on.

I see this repeated on the internet over and over, but every dyno test of CAI/Exhuast that I have seen has shown 5 to 10 HP increases (usually at the top end).

Add-in the better sound they make, and I feel both are reasonable purchases at 150-300 dollar ranges.

Why does Toyota sell aftermarket CAI and exhausts for the Tacoma and then claim on their own website that they will increase performance?

Also, I don't think that OEM prioritize horsepower. They first prioritize costs, then commissions standards and then fuel economy standards.

Is the exhast system truly stainless or aluminized steel?

Edit: Ok, lightbulb! Did the magnet test and it sticks. Second option may be true.

Stainless? Most dont hold a magnet but ours does. I’ve been told its aluminized (aluminum dipped) steel. It also turns color with age...
