Can someone tell me if this is a good deal?

P285/70/17 Wildpeaks...5 of then mounted and balanced for $875.

I think that’s the lowest price I’ll find, especially since they’re in backorder. Sorry discount tire, you guys couldn’t beat the price (I tried).

I think it is. I paid $900 for the 265/70/17’s (4 of them)
Mounted, balanced, plus I had to pay for an alignment. They also transfered the TPMS sensors from my stock wheels. $900 out the door.

Measured between 13-15 32’nds when I dropped them off to swap on the summer shoes. Down from 15-17 32’nds 6,500 miles ago.

    Update: 6 months/7600 miles

I've been happy with the performance if these tires in all weather conditions, and they haven't gotten louder or been damaged at all. They've been wearing evenly, but therein lies the problem. They all currently sit at 9-9.5/32nds from a start of 13/32nds.
    MVIMG_20180418_155846.jpg
    7600mi÷4/32nds = 1900mi/32nd

If they continue to wear at this rate, I'll be at 4/32nds (which I consider worn) at just 17,100 miles. They will hit legal tread depth of 2/32nds at 20,900 miles, which isn't even half of the 55k mile treadwear warranty.

I'm stock size and load, P245/75/R16 and I don't haul heavy loads very often, no towing, no hard acceleration, braking or turning. I've only offroaded a few times and it was pretty mild, and I've never ran them low on air. I'm a little surprised, I love everything else about this tire, but even at a great price point I can't be buying tires every 20k miles.

Are you one to typically go through tires fast, or is this out of the norm for you?

This is out of the norm. The stock tires lost the same amount of tread in 16k miles, and all my other vehicles have had normal wear.

I even got 4 winters and probably 25k out of a set of blizzaks, and sold them with half the tread left when I got the truck.

I may go get the alignment checked just to be sure, but there are no other symptoms of an issue so I don't think that's it. They were also rotated about 3500 miles ago.

Just picked up a set of 235/85/16s for 536 shipped...super pumped to try these in that size, and really impressed with the price compared to other tires in that class. Bought them from TireBuyer. Would have preferred DTD but they were cheaper on Tire Buyer and there is a forum on this where people say their service was good...

anyone running this size on a 4cyl?

Yes my truck is dirty, but it adds some character anyways I finally got my Falkens mounted by Discount. Tires measure 13/32 new

    265/75R16 SL rated
Ray 10’s (the sales guy was in love with them)
    Stock suspension
    * I removed my front flaps because they rubbed at full turns

For those of you who purchased the certificates from Discount; are they worth it? I live out of state and the nearest discount is 3.5 hours away.

Keep in mind Discount tire Direct guarantees the lowest delivered price on the internet. If you happen to find a lower delivered price send us a link to it in a PM, and we will beat it.

I agree the tire and wheel combination looks great. Nice choice...
