Have you even thought about utilizing the opening on the passanger side to mount the secendary batter to help distribute weight?

Yes, my reasoning, aside from the previous comments about the complexity and cost, is that if you think about the incremental extra weight of about 50 pounds, that's about like propping your foot up on the front bumper, or leaning against the fender with your elbows. It's pretty insignificant when you're talking about the weight of the entire vehicle. Also, the vehicle's weight from left to right is always changing as your gas tank goes from full to empty, or if there is a passenger inside. There are several high quality suspension companies that make adjustable coils that let you fine tune the ride height on each corner. To me, the extra 50 pounds isn't a big deal, but the nice thing is that you have options. If the weight distribution thing is important to you, there's a kit that addresses that. If simplicity and cost and features are more important to you, then go with a Genesis dual battery kit! Options are good for the consumers.

I have an OGE kit in my truck, and it's fine for what it is. Fitment was good, wiring was done well. Matt (from OGE) was a bit unpleasant to deal with during the purchase process, and I've heard the same comment from other people that have dealt with him.

A few month back Adventure Ready released their own battery tray, some aspects of which resembled the OGE product. Matt started spamming Instagram with daily posts about how Adventue Ready "ripped off" his work, are stealing his customers, he can't feed his family, the usual cry-wolf bullshit. He failed to note that battery trays have been manufactured for decades by thousands of different companies, and that his own product, while nice, is absolutely nothing revolutionary or unique. If it had been, he would have patented the design and defended it against Adventure Ready in court. As it stands, his own product is almost certainly infringing on other people's patents (read: is a rip off of their work).

Anyways, that really put me off from dealing with Matt. His product was imitated, at best, and he acted like a complete child. (I say this with experience in having my own work essentially "copy/pasted/renamed" on many occasions.) Based on how Matt acted, I'd never deal with him again.

On the other hand, Adventure Ready have always been professional in their communication (even during that Instagram drama), and they are about to get some ~$4000USD of my money in the coming weeks. They've also shown time and time again that they know their electrical stuff as well as anyone, and are able to come up with quality, custom solutions for the customer's needs. A much better shop to build a relationship with than the man-child at OGE.

There's several places it can go, depending on the options you have on your truck. The different models have different mounting possibilities.
The picture below is my Tacoma. I make a little plastic filler panel for the little change holder tray to hold the G Screen and a switch for the 20" Baja Designs light on the front bumper.

Genesis Offroad G Screen in Toyota Tacoma.jpg

It can also go on the dash immediately left of the steering wheel - to the right of my little red switch in this pic. I had a customer send me a picture of that but I can't find it right now.
One guy put it just in front of the shifter, but it seems like it might be more vulnerable to getting bumped right there.
Another option is if you have the factory overhead sunroof / switch panel, there's a blank spot up there that would be very easy to use for the G Screen.
It's only approx 1 cubic inch, so there's some options!
    Hope this helps!

Wow that is unfortunate to hear! I like my OGE kit but I did find them quite unresponsive to my emails asking when my order was going out. Then it went out within the 2-3 week time frame they quote.

As for the dual batteries weighing the car down I have to agree with Genesis. It isn't a big deal. I have my batteries side by side and it is fine. I have adjustable coilovers and set the preload accordingly to accommodate Taco lean and battery weight.

Loaded question??? Has there been any issues with rubbing against the body or at the oil filler? In regards to the oil filler, it looks pretty close to where if the engine was shifting under load it might make contact.

Edit: I just saw on your product page that it will not fit. Leaving the post for others with the same question.

@genesisoffroad "Matching Group 34 batteries required" Would it be possible to purchase one for the secondary battery and pair it with the factory one at first to cut down on the inital cost? Certainly I would plan on purchasing a second one eventually but at $250 a pop thats a pretty big additional cost. I am definitely leaning toward your set up at the moment. Thanks!

Do recommend upgrading to a larger alternator when using your dual setup with aux lights, compressor, winch, amp, etc.?

Umm. Thanks. I really appreciate you slamming me so hard after having dealt with me for mere minutes.

If you have a serious problem with me or my company, I feel like it would have been better sorted out in some sort of private message. What you have done here is exactly what you are accusing/ bashing me for doing to Adventure Ready. Kind of hypocritical, don’t you think?

To follow that up, You have no idea what the entire story is behind the Adventure Ready debacle. They had been purchasing my trays for a few years and repackaging them in their own kits. I let that slide until I found them trying to manufacture the exact same style product using mine as a guide. I do not care if other people make battery trays and I’ll never be able to stop them. What I care about is the abuse of professional relationship that we had. That is all.

Next time, it would behoove you to do your research and talk to both sides of the party before publicly bashing someone.

Asking to resolve issues in Private Messaging after a multi-week Instagram campaign to bash another company, and you're calling me a hypocrite? Boy, you need to get yourself a dictionary.

You're right, I don't know the "entire story." All I know is what you and AR showed to the world in your posts and comments. And you acted like an immature child the entire time. That's the take away, and it was 100% your doing.

And as I recall, you told me and other folks who commented on this crap (on your Instagram comments) to go pound sand, in not so kind words. And that was after I identified myself as a customer of yours. Ring a bell?

Next time, it would behoove you to cool down and use your head before publicly bashing a competitor.

But hey, thanks for bumping this thread - now even more people will be aware of how you behave.

Yes. I am calling you a hypocrite, as you never attempted to contact me privately with your concerns. Not that this is any concern of yours but... I dealt with the majority of the AR issue via private phone calls and private emails. I gave AR the benefit of the doubt and when it didn't work, I went public. When I did go public, it was two funny memes on two days, not a "multi-week campaign". After sorting it all through, I deleted the posts. Was it the best way to handle the situation? No. But I am human it was a very frustrating event.

It seems that you only know half-truths. You just admitted to not knowing the full story, so I suggest that you act as such.

OGE is a brand that I built with passion. I have hundreds, if not thousands, of satisfied users of my hand crafted products. Even you dont seem to have a complaint on the actual product. If you choose to dislike me and choose never to do business with me again, thats ok.

I didn't pick a fight with you and this is way off-topic for this thread. Lets just call this done, ok?
