This is not the world we live in. I’d cut the crap.

One of the best mechanics I know is a woman and a biologist. Literally the only person at work I can talk shop with and gets it.

Get the off road! You’ll get crawl control and Bilstein suspension and rear differential lockers. With the sport package all you get is a fake hood scoop.

And a sturdy plastic gas tank protector/skid plate.

Not steel or aluminum, but better than nothing for deflecting sharp objects on and off road.

Yep, just a fake hood scoop, nothing else on the sport. :poking:

But a fake hood scoop that many people want. How many times have you seen I will trade my non scoop hood plus cash for a scooped hood, yet every time the subject comes up comparing trucks, the first thing said is always, You get a fake scoop for the same cost as the OR. :poking::poking:

    Yep.

And I will agree that based on the price of the OR, the sport is over priced. But dam it come up with something else beside the freaking FAKE HOOD SCOOP. And I don't gcare what others think, the hood brings the looks to another level. Way more smiles when looking at the sport versus the OR?

Oh and the fake hood scewp didn't have to worry about hoods peeling apart.

I test drove them both and preferred the ride of the off road over the sport. Ended up buying the off road and don't regret it. I've had people riding in my truck comment that they were surprised how nice the ride is.

When you are doing serious off roading, like climbing grades, you want as much visibility over the hood as possible to see where you should aim your tires to go! That scoop is like right where you want to see ahead. A front camera would be ideal, even without the fake scoop in the way!

And thats why they make the different models. I myself prefer the ride of the sport. This is mainly because I am an avid motorcycle rider and love to hug the corners. I also like the looks of the Sport with the painted bumper caps and flares and the Hood scoop. And dare I say it, I know I will never take the truck off the beaten path, so crawl control and whatever else the OR has would never get used by me.
In all reality, a 4 cyl SR would suit my needs, but I like the upgrades in technology in the sport from the sr.

At times I do wish I would have got a sport. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for the scoop and painted bumper caps. Although the OR is definitely a softer ride.

    I went with the Sport.
    Number 1 reason was because I wanted the V6, 4x4, access cab w/ 6MT.
here in the states, that's only an option on the TRD Sport.

Also love the color matched bumpers and flares.
Scoop looks good to me and isn't that big of a deal off road once you get used to it.
My MT has the same size rear-end, so adding a locking diff won't be a big deal later.

The sport is ugly those wheels and boy racer hood remind me of something you'd see a young Chad driving to the gym, GNC or Costco to buy 50 chicken breasts for the week because he eats 10 a day.

I honestly think the sport wheels look like something you'd see on a Ridgeline, the ugliest Toyota truck wheel ever. Might was well paint the damn things white with a yellow center cap

Sport if you want a ridiculous skewp and street tires, off road if you want crawl control, better shocks, and better stock tires.
