i hope none of you guys that buy these bumpers ever say "I only buy USA made parts" or "none of that chinese crap is on my truck"...... this is a prime example of not supporting USA made products....

Here's the thing, a massive majority of our RAW steel comes from India or China to begin with; based on how trade is currently set up - if these were truly American made as in 100% from mining to forging to manufacturing - they would be expensive. Now, I understand through economies of scale, the prices would drop but the truth is, regulations are so tight from bottom up, it would be inherently expensive to produce and sell.

I guarantee you when you compare the cost of bring these from over seas ( if they are truly stamped/ bent/ and welded )- it would be cheaper than acquiring the raw materials to construct these bumpers here in the USA. The tooling to mass produce these would cost $$$. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for American made/ sold but there is nothing wrong with the China made stuff... as long as they're made according to spec. But don't be surprised if its a little janky. Harbor Freight does this all the time and they make 100s of millions.

Now here's something to think about - even though it could NOT be made in the USA, how many American hands does this pass through before it hit the final consumer? I'm talking about the distribution chain, logistics, retailers all here in the USA that will reap $$$ for selling a good that is in DEMAND. If you think about it, how many people or FAMILIES does this impact?

    A lot..

Also, don't be fooled with " Assembled in America " - that could be the closest to " Made in America. "

you're right. I'm totally not against anything made in china. i buy chinese things knowing its made in china. heck i am part chinese...lol. if you shop at any big chain store, home depot, target, walmart, etc.. chances are you have bought chinese. and like you said, not all china made products are bad, it comes down to quality control in those factories. my comment was based on all the people out there who always complain that they'll never use anything made in china but the truth is, most automotive aftermarket parts are mfg in china or another country other than the USA.
