Got into some sim racing this weekend.
Cranked the sound up, grabbed an ice cold beer and my windows were nearly rattling.

There was an old nascar sim game back in the 90s forget the name of it but coming from racing the adjustments you made on the car actually translated to what the car would do in real world scenario. I don't know about any of the newer racing games but I haven't played one that would react to adjustments the way this one did.

 

If you switch over to classic view it's much easier if you're used to the older gui.
I like it, but it ain't no win 7!!!!

Biggest cooler I've ever stuck in a rig.

This one had really good reviews and I didn't do a ton of research on the chiller, mostly went with the reviews.

GTX 1080 most likely. I'd like to get the 1080 Ti, but fuck my wallet. I still hope to get a SOS front bumper out of this.

Eating into my gas money for AOP. Might just have to overland it.

I played the hell out of a NASCAR sim in the 90's that was so much fun. The long tracks were my favorite, Darlington my least favorite.

 

The short tracks were a lot less forgiving especially darlington you had to get your set up just right!

 

Bristol was my favorite for the short tracks. Real fast, hard in the turns, always making adjustments. Lots of fun.

 

I liked darlington BC it was flatish and really challenged you to get your set up right or tear your tires up. Same with Martinsville. Bristol was easy because of the huge banking you could dive in harder with more speed and brake later. I miss that old sim it was by far the best I have ever played.

 

Have you seen the price of video cards nowadays?
There's a huge shortage because of all the crypto people buying them up when they were cheap and building servers.

 

I built my rig 5 yrs ago this coming OCT.

2013 prices on 2X EVGA founders edition 1080's.

2018 price on a single EVGA 1080.

 

It really is crazy. Kinda like gas though... do you get a tank now or what to see if the price goes up or down tomorrow?

 

Best bet if you are an nvidia guy, which sounds like you are, is just to wait if you can to see if they are going to release a new card.

However, if I was building a new rig right now, I would just go ahead and snag the 1080ti right now. Sure it's overpriced, but it's only money. You'll make more next week. Amirite.
