Yes you are correct sir!

There is a lot more to rubbing than just tire size. If you can get ~3* of caster and the offset of your wheels right the rubbing in minimized. Plus I think the 3rd gens have more space in the wheel wells. One of the guys in my area was running 33s on a stock 3rd gen.

 

You think it's worth trying the 275 or just not worth it. I've gone back and forth on it and have all but fully decided in the 265. I'm getting the new grabber atx which have a beefy sidewall which may make them appear wider

 

Not sure there that isn't going to be a whole lot taller than the 265s. @SearArtist was running 285s on stock suspension so it can be done maybe he can chime in and give better advice since he's also got a 3rd gen or go check out his build thread.

Got ya! Your wheel offset and stuff are going to come into affect as well. I didn't know you were going with 18s. Yeah that size should be good for you then!

 

Yeah. Getting rims to so having a guy run the numbers to determine the offset and backspacing

 

285's don't fit without a minimum 3" lift (no less than Kings), CMC and lots of trimming and cutting

 

My 2008 DCLB. Stock except the topper and wheels put on by the previous owner. Eventually planning on a lift, racks, new bumpers, etc.

Trip to Crested Butte, just moved back to Texas from Colorado... I'll probably move back there someday, but looking forward to exploring what Texas has to offer in the outdoors!
