It's so nice! I was stationed there for a couple years, and am keeping my car registered there for as long as I can. Even though I already have holes in my bumper, it's nice not having a plate.

Saw the bumper up front. How is it? I know they are pricey and was wondering if it’s worth it. Do you feel it’s weight or no?

Correct! We’re moving to California soon so I’ll eventually have to come up with a solution for a front plate.

Thanks, Shawn! Get out there and mod! The process of the build is the best part. Hopefully the posts are interesting and helpful.

I love it, one of my favorite things on the truck. I feel it slightly but I also have a winch. I think it’s fine on stock suspension. I’m considering upgrading my suspension down the road though now to compensate for extra weight in the front and rear, for better performance on/off-road, and to go up a tire size maybe to 275/70R17.

I’m currently considering the OME kit with:
    • OME 886 coils (highest spring rate to compensate for bumper/winch/lightbar/skid as opposed to lower spring rate options)
    • OME 90021 struts (softer versions as opposed to 90000 firmer versions)
    • Dakar EL096R heavy duty leaf pack (to compensate for topper/drawers/gear as opposed to EL095R light/medium duty leaf pack)
    • OME 60091 nitrocharger shocks
    • Other included OME goodies: trim packer for drivers side lean, carrier bearing drop bracket, extended u-bolts
    • Stock UCAs, bump stops, brake lines

I'll talk you out of OME stuff if you'll let me...

@ChadsPride and myself might have something cookin up if you're interested :spy:

I can say  on the Dakar pack though for your application. You want to retain stock UCAs?

I’m a suspension noob so any and all feedback is appreciated!

I’m trying to stay stock-ish (minimize changes/ no CMC, minimal wear on other components, etc), improve performance, compensate for all of the added weight, go up a tire size if possible, and do this all while balling on a budget (trying to stay close to $1500 installed if possible). I’ll also need an installers help in SoCal when we get there after I settle on something because I’m ignorant with suspension and don’t have any help or time haha

SoCal is a treasure chest for competent people in this community so I doubt you'll have much trouble. As far as ballin' on a budget goes... You know a guy

Can you explain what you mean by feel it?

I have this exact setup on my wish list, but I'm really not interesting in increasing the height of my truck (it barely fits in my garage with the prinsu as is... and I'm a fancy man who can't be expected to clean off any snow!) with a beefier suspension upgrade to compensate for the added weight.

So if the added feels is something to live with, maybe I'll move it up the upgrade wish list.

Do you not have mud-flaps because of rubbing?
