Anyone with chrome handles on thier Limited dechrome it yet?

I looked into this and dealer was asking for $437 to go body colored as they stated the whole handle has to be replaced, it’s not just a cap, but not sure if the drivers side “touch-to-unlock” was driving the cost up or not. Once I saw the quote I said hell no. I’d rather wait to see if models in the next few years will all be touch to unlock in which case I may reconsider revisiting this mod with a retrofit approach instead...if you have done it, pics please! (And cost!)

This is the only bit of chrome I have left and well it annoys me a little because I’ve dechromed everything else without breaking the bank.

Maybe check an auto salvage yard? It would be cheaper.

 

True...but I’m lazy haha. Plus haven’t seen any wrecked cements yet and not interested in getting them painted..but great suggestion!

 

Swap with someone who likes chrome.

Ah yes, David here has inherited all my chrome trim and it looks way better on his truck than it did mine. My black and cement theme is strict. I’m even considering PRO tails because the limited tails are just like the pro, but instead of black inside the Limited went chrome. Cmon guys David needs my chrome handles!

 

I’ll give them a call, they’re actually great with parts sales and great prices. I’ve ordered from them in the past and have spent a lot ordering from them. Maybe they’ll give me a deal because I’ve already ordered the mirror covers from them and that’s about $80 from that $440 price...so that would put it around $360 for the set of handles but if I can get them for $300 I’d do it. Thanks for the heads up!

 

There are black covers available somewhere.... but i can't find the link now. I have a white limited, and have been thinking about derping them and seeing if the contract is too much.
