I just updated my handheld. Looked like a major update but FW1.50 still.

Cal file 3YWG2900 still not found.

I'm hoping I'm just early to the party....and the servers in Italy just need to be updated first.

    1. Will you be able to log with the Tactrix Openport 2.0 and Techstream or will purchase of a compatible cable be required?
    2. Will your software suite come with a datalogger? Or is Techstream the go-to?
    3. Will you be able to disable specific OBDII checks with your initial release (or any future planned releases)?
    4. Along with disabling those specific OBDII checks, will you be able to "force pass" those checks so those with emissions can pass without incomplete tests
    5. Any planned future support for custom ROM features/coding allowing conversions to Speed Density or other cool stuff?
    6. What's the price point? I'm interested in the Master Kit.
    7. Any support or plans to support external sensor(s) logging directly for analysis in a single software suite?
    8. Will the editor software have definitions for "actual values" or will it be editing raw tables (0-255)?
    9. If a Master Kit is purchased, how much will it cost to get additional licenses for another CAL File?

Just out of curiosity why would you prefer speed density over maf?

I see the 2700 and the 2900. But not the 2800. Is that because mine is a manual trans ?

    to answer:

    1. yes
    2. no datalogger yet, still working on it. Techstream works perfectly for now
    3. for off-road vehicles the user will be able to modify these
    4. no this cannot be used to circumvent any emissions testing
    5. yes, this is in the works already on select ECUs, once we have working custom code it can be ported to others
    6. pricing TBD
    7. no
    8. actual values for tables that have formulas, raw values for tables that have no formulas
    9. Master kit is licensed for all CAL files of a particular type (so for example tacoma 4.0 SC Master kit will have CAL file for every supercharged ecu version)

Admittedly, the state of tune my truck is at, I have no need currently. However my question is based more along the lines of how far can "we" go with this software and what level of access into the ECU this suite of software will support. From what has been published thus far, this software suite is very similar to the open source flashing software (ECUFlash) used in the Mitsubishi EVO/Subaru world which allowed for anything a code writer could dream up. The speed density conversion was a popular ROM modification which allowed those moving significantly more air through the motor than the stock MAF (Karman Vortex) could support. While I doubt VERY few of the members here will ever get to a point where the stock MAF in our trucks has run out of headroom, I suspect a few (in time) will get there and having the ability to run the truck in speed density allows you to base the tune off the output of a 5bar (extreme case) MAP sensor.. I'm sure you can see where this is going..

In short, I suspect this software will make this engine a popular choice for swaps in the future and thus the potential for a speed density solution might be pretty neat.

If we can get some people with experience or understanding of machine language / assembly, sure.. it will get there.

The thing is the processor in these trucks are more difficult to work with than mitsubishi or subaru, which are pretty standard hitachi stuff. These use cryptic, old, NEC processors with zero documentation out in the wild.

not saying it's impossible... it's just going to be difficult.

Probably a pretty dumb question but would a beginner at tuning be able to use the self tuning software if one was to tread carefully and try to learn or would that end in disaster and should wait for a can tune?

I think the consensus is that is a bad idea. Unless you have experience or have a reputable dyno tuner, get the handheld

He's just waiting on the last bit of ecu's to file in before he does anything. N/A will be last due to the high amount of ecu variations. Hard to say but with this project being in focus now it should be soon. I'd buy a tuner now even if I'm not supported yet to get the ball rolling if I could.
