I think the newer ones might have fixed the doors, at least I hope they did. I used to drive from NC to MA somewhat regularly, and still drive like 20-25k a year, so the big fuel tank really came in handy. I really like the Tacoma, but if I could take the 3.5 eco and throw it in my taco it'd be a lot better that's for sure. I really loved the power that thing had when I wanted to pass a trail of cars up rt. 2.

I hear you on this. My wife can’t drive manual so 2 of the 3 cars won’t work for her.

I’ve let her drive the Vette and my old Xtracab but she doesn’t really want to learn so she doesn’t really do all that well when she tries. I’ve been meaning to teach her with the truck in low range so the clutch action will be easier.

She can do 4lo it’s a little jerky in 1st just how low everything is geared so I get that. Looking at it from her view I can see how overwhelming it can be. I grew up with quads and bikes and tractors so I learned young on how to drive manuals. She never had that so it’s tough to pick up so cold.

I looked at a few 4Runners since we both like them. If I can get them to go for my price tomorrow either close on a 2016 or an 2018. Tying to get them to come off $20k on my trade is proving to be tough

4runner is a nice vehicle. My wife really likes hers. It's pretty comfy to ride in too.

Those are both nice options! I like the 20's on my current F150. It came with 17s and the 20s are much more stable, not as squishy feeling when towing.
I'm right there with you for the same reason. Just seems like one thing, cross dressing trying to be something it's not. Rather just get a 4Runner or truck with a cap.
I loved the big gas tank for towing. 8-9 mpg and I can still get a decent range. It usually saves me from having to fill up with the camper in tow, I can usually get to the site, unhook then fuel up.
