Let's see those road bikes. In an effort to get in better shape and a need for speed I recently picked up this 2011 Trek Madone almost In New condition for a great price. I'd love to see what others are riding and what you like.20180413_174042.jpg

My old school Yeti Road Project. All D/A, built by me, including wheels. And my Madone Project One.

I got a great deal on it through our rep when I worked at a shop. Retail was around $7k because it's a project one. While I still like it I wouldn't mind a Domane.

I was looking at a Domane at my shop with the iso frame, I wasnt to sure about it though. From what they were telling me the Madone was a full on race bike and the Domane was an endurance long ride bike. I like them both. The Emonde looked interesting too. I do love the fit and finish of my madone and the carbon fiber frame is so smooth on the road and absorbs all the bumps.

The iso feature is what had me interested in the Domane, and was the main difference between the two frames. Rough roads around here. As far as the Madone being a full on race bike it depended on how you ordered it when I got mine several years ago. You could get H1, H2 or H3 geometry. One was hunched over race, one was more relaxed/upright (I don't recall which was which). I got an H2. I've been out of the industry for a while now so not sure if this is still a thing.

Is it labeled on the frame for the H sizing? I'd definitely like to get the 2018 madone but it's only specced out with carbon wheels so I'm sure that probably doubles the cost. If I could get it with aluminium rims I'd be all over it. Its amazing how the value holds up on treks that are used. It's like the Toyota of Bikes.

Not sure if it's noted on the frame. As far as the '18 madone there's so many models you might find one set up and priced like you want. Check treks website?

Yeah I checked the website, base model had carbon wheels unfortunately. I want to get a part time job at a bike shop to get the discount then quit right after. :drevil: Where do you ride most of the time? We have a lake with a paved trail it's about 3.5 miles, I park at one end and ride to the other end and back. I'm not into riding on the roads here.

You didn't put your location with your screen name so I don't know where here is for you but I just ride on the road. I'm in the suburbs and you just get used to riding what you have. Though I do enjoy riding out into more rural areas.

Wow, just looked at Treks' website. They make too many road bikes now. It's kinda confusing. I think I could see myself on a Domane SLR 8 disc. The Madones are different now than what mine is. My frame is probably more like what that new Emonda line is. I'm overwhelmed.
