    Well said and agreed.

Alternatively, nothing wrong to start on a cheaper mild "trail" geometry full-sus bike if you are commited and want to do a little crying at purchase time. I think that is why so many people start on stumpjumpers. They take a bit of the edge off, still handle well but teach you a few things the hard way, and look a little cooler than hardtails (sometimes) to boot.

The irony is a lot of people start on full sus and THEN start pulling the "I need a hardtail" N+1...that's what I did :D then a fatty...then DH...

Welcome to your new drug addiction. Your wife / GF is gonna wish you just stayed with your truck!

I started on a Stumpjumper hard tail but after my 1st ride on Porcupine Rim in MOAB I went out and got a FS!

I started on a Stumpjumper FS and rode it for a year. Ended up with a tricked out Bronson CC through a friend of a friend while in GJ last year.

I'm riding porcupine for the first time on Saturday!

Anyone a trail rider in Washington? I'm moving to Washington next month and have been looking at starting trail riding as I have wanted to do for the longest time, but couldn't afford it. Also I woouldbe interested if anyone had any bikes for sale. I've been looking at the Giant Reign as I've actually ridden one and loved the feel, it was the most comfortable for me.

Awesome, I rode it on my new Stumpy 6Fattie last summer, if you go all the way around the trail it's a very tough ride, at least for me! I will get up there in Sept this yr can't wait!!!

Ryan Leach (trials rider) has a video of him doing trials on an old sh*t bike from Walmart or somewhere. It is a good testament to rider skills vs equipment. But it could be that he is just an amazing anomaly.

Assume you mean Western Washington/seattle area?

If so, tons' of great stuff. Of course depends on your ability as well.
    - Duthie Park is a great place to progress from beginner to advance, with both XC trails (my style) and small to huge jump runs. Very friend to all... trails run one way in hub and spoke fashion back to center clearing.

then... check out these, all within 30-60 minutes:
    Tokul (west and east)
    Grand Ridge
    Raging River
    Ollalie
    St. Edwards
    Tiger Mountain

Just to name a few. PM me if you want more when you get here!

Anyone have any pics with a bedcage and 2 dirt bikes in the bed?
I’m in the process of doing a dmz bedcage and not sure if I’ll be able to fit the bikes with the angle of his tubing. Might have to redesign it a bit.
I have a shortbed so looking for pics of that.

Need to mount a seat-tube clamp on one of those pillars. Then use a fox 40 stanchion for the door pull...

You will love riding in Washington, plenty of riding to be had. Tiger mountain is a great trail system. Also you should have no problem finding a used bike in Washington.
