Could do that. But the biggest shock you'll be able to stuff in without going into the bed is probably a 12'' short body. And that would have to be with custom hoops on the outside of the frame and even then Im not sure you could fit them with the up travel you'd be pulling.

Yep. All custom pretty much. Solo and TC make some kits but only for 10'' shocks really. LT is all custom. No nice bolt in options like you guys.

Currently i get about 5” of up travel and thats with my tires kissing the fenders, im sure with fiberglass bed sides the rubbing will be eliminated. But im looking to increase up travel and put the rear end about the same hight as a stock pre runner or 1-2” taller. So i can fit bigger, better shocks so i can smooth out the ride some
Edit: im also touching my bumpstops in the rear which stops the up travel.

Ok, Ill just keep an eye on that bolts torque, which I like to do with all the suspension bolts anyhow, and when I do uniballs, take a close look at it.

Back when I had my first gen...damn I had no idea to LT the rear it would have been all custom. I was sad to see mine go, but might have been a pain in the ass to get it built right on the east.

Your thinking of cantilever. With regular 12" shocks gains about 17" of travel or so. Works really well and no holes in the bed. Downside it will cost you money..
Heres a truck I built a few years back...

Not really link setup would still cost way more. Link setup , add cost of coilovers, fuel cell , fuel plumbing parts, labor, cage, bigger axle, etc. I mean a lot as in nobody makes a kit for X amount so a custom built one would of course be a lot. I think this customer was roughly 6K if I can recall.

Ive done that too. If you check my build thread I did that exact setup with 12" short body bilstiens and bumpstops with deaver bolt in leaf pack j59 and it worked really well. It was super fun offroading. Honestly this is your best bet if you don't plan on going super crazy. But still able to do lots of fun stuff.

Oh and I would just keep it SOA . No reason to sua if you your gonna keep shocks that small under bed. IF you SUA you should REALLY just go through bed with 16" shocks.

I like that set up but want to stay sua, im sure my stock leafs arnt up to that task so i was looking the chevy 63” or deaver 62 route, something along those lines. I understand i will need to chop off my leaf pearches snd mount new ones. Then i read that i would need 12” shackles but mounted over the frame. Problem is I haven’t seen any photos of that done to look at so i can see what fab work needs to be done
Edit my truck is already sua being that its a 5lug

Just look into the Deaver J59 leaf pack before you go crazy because some good shocks and bumpstops under the bed and it will be very fun. Going spring under with the shocks under the bed is just going to limit it and be just decent. Also need tools and welder and some fab skills to mount leafs spring under, remove frame tire carrier and rear bumper cut all stock mounts off. Its a good amount of work.

Cant find all the good install threads heres a okay one. But don't follow this, you need to mount 12" shackles over the frame not through the frame. And it needs to be 52.5" between upper rear pivot and front hhanger centers/

I have enough skill to get by with this, and have all the tools already. But my truck is already set up spring under, granted alot would have to be changed in order to run bigger leaf packs
