Dammit guys...I just got a call from the vet.

Oscar is doing ok and is in recovery, I can pick him up after 4pm.

but, they are now calling whatever it was a "growth" and they got it removed but want to send it off for testing...for cancer...

if my dog somehow has cancer I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself...I already want to just break down in tears at the thought of it.

just be praying if you don't mind...I'm just scared.

Stay strong, man. We went through all of the big C with my four legged best friend last year. Here's hoping it all turns out for the best.

After the diagnosis, he stayed around for about 8 months. He was already in not-so-great shape already though. He was 16, had Cushings Disease, which is rare in big dogs, and developed Diabetes. So it was just one thing after another with him.

Our other dog had some growths on her belly that we were really freaked about, but they wound up just being fatty deposits. Had to do the whole biopsy just to be sure, of course.

Yeah he was in it for the long haul, took all that to bring him down. Got him when he was 3 , had been in the shelter for two years and had an undescended testicle. Pretty sure his original owners beat him, wouldn't come near a broom for at least a year after we got him. After a while he got to the point I could sweep leaves off him after he'd been outside. Acted like he enjoyed it even, LOL.

Had a pretty hard early life, then he got spoiled real quick with us, as it should be. So we felt totally blessed he was with us for so long.

Hope Oscar will be OK. It's hard and I know cause we went thru 2 blown knees with our German Shepherd. You just wish you could fix it so they aren't in pain. I wish you could ask em where it hurts or what they need and them be able to answer you. Praying it's nothing more than a growth and that's it!

Thank you sir. It's hard too because it hasn't bothered him a bit. He sits fine, runs fine, everything is all good. I've just been worried it's some sort of infection or something, or spider bite like we originally thought. So I've put him through a surgery he didn't ask for, putting him through recovery that's going to suck and he didn't want, and now possibly (fingers crossed not) will get news of cancer and have to put him through even more simply because I'm concerned. Poor guy is probably so confused and has no idea why I'm doing any of this to him. He's gonna get lots of treats and love this weekend.

Dogs really are a man's best friend.

talk to @JBTacoma he has more knowledge of Stoney than most of us. it's always seemed to be more of an sxs or atv park to me, but he's found and knows the areas for trucks.
