I’ll check it out. I heard it gets fun there. SB is finicky and I’m not used to how the swell hits there so I’m always on the fence of bringing boards when I go.

Side note: the little 4 banger averaged 22.5mpg all the way home yesterday. Not bad. I guess that’s the one upside to having a slow truck.

Amen to that brother! Sad part is the TW group up by me are practically the new age overlanders, but they get salty if you ever call them that.

Did the guy state how old he was in the article? I would assume 40s right?

I thought I saw that he was 28, but kept thinking I read it wrong. Dude is a millennial like me, yet hates on his own generation...wow now I see how fucked up it is after knowing that.

I thought he was just some crusty squatter...

I would think old school would mean somewhere around the late 80s to early 90s...but shit this dude was probably born in the 90s.

Ironic you saying that while going around addressing criticisms, maybe you should take your own advice.

Why? Because I called out people who tell everyone and their mother that they're an overlander and they're gear can take them anywhere in the world, but have never left the campground? I've had the pleasure to meet REAL overlanders, people who ACTUALLY get out there and do what they say they do. Those people don't deserve this new crowd of yuppies.

Get real...I wrote the article for a fun debate but everyone take's everything on the internet so damn seriously that it sucks the fun out of any of it and now I have to sit here and try for a last ditch effort to explain myself to guys who I THOUGHT were my friends. I've always been humble towards my roots. I learned almost everything I know about off-road right here on TW by asking questions, going out there and experiencing failure and success, getting help from friends and strangers, helping friends and strangers, and yes...documenting most of it on my instagram page that I in NO WAY benefit from personally. So you can call me whatever you want, make me out to be a hypocrite (except if you really understood the article, you'd know how ridiculous that is), and listen to the several individuals in here (monkeyproof and others) who have ALWAYS been complete douchebag elitists since the day I met them those years ago.

But I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, regardless of what you folks think. It's sad that it's come to this, but hey...I don't even own a Tacoma anymore. So who cares.
