I have a 2008 4 door pre-runner with a short bed. I had a tool box on my last truck and miss having one. I am afraid that if I get one there won't be much room left in my bed. I use my bed regulary, but could use a tool box as well. Does anyone have a short bed and have a tool box? Thanks for the help.

I'd like to do the same, but I'm afraid of loosing needed space. White taco's looks pretty good and it looks there's still good room in there.

I appreciate the pictures they help a lot. I feel like I would have enough room, I just wanted to be sure. My other problem is that the took box I am looking to buy is a uws low profile one, but it is silver. I can get a good deal on it thats the reason I am interested in it, but I would much rather black. I have read forums on people painting them and feel like the paint would still fade or chip no matter what. Anyone have axperience with this?

I have a uws chest and it eats up the room. If I need the bed I can take it out in under a minute...actually it is just sitting in there now, don't come steal it!

Just get a black one from UWS. Here's mine but it's not a short bed. Maybe you could use a narrow box. [IMG]

I've got that exact same box. I love the versatility of a toolbox.

Here's a narrow/short box. Not mine. Too small for my needs. Not sure who makes them. Dealership sells a way overpriced one. [IMG]

Well I found a slightly used UWS silver box like the black one for only 100 bucks. I think I am going to go for it. I am glad you can take it out so easily. I might just keep it silver and see how I like it. I appreciate all the help from everyone, you guys helped with my decision a lot.

    look at

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...ck+tool+box&prdNo=11&blockNo=11&blockType=G11

it is a true tool box not a storage box takes up space in the bed that is not usable really i have had mine for about 2 years and love it. the only problem is that all the weight sits right by the tailgate great because the tailgate acts as a work bench and you can reach all the tools without climbing into the bed but bad for the suspension esp because i have a rear mounted winch to go with it now. with 2 screws removed the box with slide forward out of the bed (they cant be removed without the key to open the door) i am very happy with it.

I will check tomorrow. All I did was order the one for my truck?

If you were closer I would seriously think about selling you mine. I am kind of wanting a tonneau cover instead but not sure.
