hey guys. I tried posting in the audio forum but no answers. If I pull the plastic cubby behind the driver rear seat how much room from metal to seat back is there depth wise.

Maybe a 1/2 inch or so increase if you pull the plastic. Total depth at the bottom is almost 6 inches. I used a Rockford self enclosed 10" sub for mine and didn't have to pull the plastic.

Wow that’s not what I wanted to hear. The old sub I have is 5 1/2 inches alone so I guess it’s time for a new one.

Do u have a pic or a link of what u used

    Thanks

    Too much.
I pulled the plastic on the passenger side:

The Sub is the JL10TW1-2. I didn't really want to pull the plastic, but I really wanted to use this sub that I had left over from my last truck. The box and rack were made by @Mr Marv to the specs of the sub.

Sorry I've been in class all day. Here's the sub I ended up going with. The guy who installed it took the plastic off of the back of the rear seats for more room but it would work without pulling that.

Super confused now, I just bought that exact box, R2S-1X10 and it doesn't fit behind my seat at all.

Not even close! The seat won't latch and the top of my box sticks up a good two inches higher than your pic.

    WTF happened.

There are 2 different types of plastic storage bins that Toyota used in the 12-15 Tacoma’s. Both have the same part #, but are different. I ran into this problem installing a stealth box in my 2012. The pic above shows the curved sided type. I had to replace my bin with one like in the above pic. If you look at your passenger side bin, I’ll bet the left side is straight not curved.

Meh screw it, just ordered a Punch 10 and the Taco Tunes box. I'm sick of playing with other prefab boxes and I don't want to cut any of the OEM plastic.

Hey, I am interested in this box. Curious if you removed the plastic cubbies behind the back seats when attempting to install this box? I am willing to remove the plastic cubby to make it fit, but not willing to cut anything.

I've already purchased one box from Amazon only to have to return it because it did not fit. Hoping to avoid doing it a second time...

I completely bailed on that box and went a different route.

I have the ********* sealed 10" box with a Rockford Fosgate Punch sub and amp. I did have to remove the seat back plastic and the cubby, but I covered both in black cloth and have been super pleased with the performance.

Kinda of an old thread, but thought I would let you guys know that you can fit an Image Dynamics Q10 in the back if you pull the cubby (passenger side). They have a mounting depth of 5.81.
