If I hit the lottery, I'm buying a Tundy TRD PRO in black or red, and putting a powerful sound system in it! And I'm keeping my trusty Taco!

GTIs and Rs came with them. Never noticed it being an issue on trucks, but it did cause issues at the track lol

Simple google search for plastic eco boost oil pan will yield that some guys are having the pans replaced 3-4 times. Once they start leaking, which is quick, you have to replace the pan since it’s one time use only. The gasket sealant is a RTV type sealant that has to cure for 24 hours before oil can be put back in the motor.

Never mind you absolutely no questions asked have to let the ecofail drain 20 minutes now for oil changes. Any less, and you will over fill and flood the crankcase.

I had a 13 boosted coyote, good motors when timing tensioners don’t snap.

Well that's because it wasn't built by Ford.

All the fan boys on this site. Id rock an F150 if I could afford it and wanted a full sized. The last one I drove, like a 2016 or something hauled ass, and was comfortable, aaaand you can get a factory front and back locker. I haven’t really heard of any problems with them and everyone around here drives them for work, everyone.

Also anyone saying they get >20mpg from a 3.5ecofail is full of shit. They get horrible mileage. The 2.7ecofail can get 22ish in 2wd form pretty easily but is a giant piece of shit too. Only reason why it’s in trucks is so Ford meets CAFE requirements because the Coyote and 3.5 are shit for mileage

Had a 2014 f150 with 3.5 ecoboost and was getting 25.6 mpg, 36 gal gas tank and able to go over 700 miles was great. Traded for a 2017 Tacoma and what a disappointment with the power of that drivetrain. Traded that for a 2018 f150 3.5 ecoboost , the new 10 speed transmission is smooth without shifting back and forth trying to find the right gear. Best thing about the Tacoma was resale, reliability wise toyota isn't doing very good with the 3rd generation. I would love the 3.5 ecoboost in the Tacoma, doesn't matter what engine you put in the Tacoma the frame will be long gone before the engine.

You do not get a factory front locker, that does not exist.
