    I installed my scanguage a month ago and I see that one of the add on xguages is
    AF AIR FUEL RATIO.
    Has anyone added this to there guage? If so is it accurate?
    I see there are a number of codes to try so I’m lost as what to do, what code to add.
    What RXF code worked for you as there are 17 total?
    Can’t get any to work

    I don't think the 1st gens report the actual A/F ratio

    look at the edit in the first post here: He talks about getting the A/F on 99+ 4runners with california emissions.

    I know this isn't scangauge, but the codes are ultimately the same.

    I don't believe these will work since you are narrow band, not wide band O2.

    This would only work if by some chance you found the right code on a 2000-2004 Tacoma equipped with AF wideband (they're out there but much less common)

    I’ve always had AFR reported by my scangauge, I believe it came with the code installed. It’s pretty accurate too, only off by 0.1 or so when compared to my PLX standalone.

    I haven’t got around to trying the fuel trim codes yet.

    Are you 100 percent sure you have a wideband stock on your truck?

    Normally it’s a narrow band O2 sensor unless you have a different 02 sensor

    Yes, I am sure. The earlier trucks have a narrow-band O2 sensor.
    The later trucks, including mine are wideband AFR sensors.
    I am purposefully not putting years to these earlier/later generalizations because I'm not an expert on when they switched over, how CA trucks differ from non-CA trucks, auto/manual, et al.

    @CHMM used a phone app for the AFR meter I believe and said it Was dicey as in didn’t work very well on his 2001.

    If your looking at this for a supercharger I would go with a stand alone setup to be 100 percent sure

    The stock wideband is very slow to update so it doesn't aid well in tuning

    This is not because of the AFR sensor, it's our super slow ECUs... This is due to the OBD II protocol it was designed for - ISO-9141.
    ISO 9141 serial data is transmitted on a single wire (k-line) at an average of 10.4 kbps or higher depending upon the vehicle manufacturer's design.

    So, when you are reading multiple data values, the refresh rate is slower. If you had an UltraGauge reading all available 8 values on one screen (ScanGauge can only do 4 values on the screen), then it would refresh even slower...

    This is for in the meantime while still without the supercharger.

    I just played with my gauge. If you go to the edit, you can cycle through the config screens for the values and then press the cancel button to not accidentally change them. Something like More > More > (arrow until you see X-Gauge) and then arrow through until you see your LF1 storage slot.

    This I'm well aware of but because none of us have the old proprietary Toyota tool which uses a different serialized protocol and happens to refresh very fast, we cant make use of it in any real capacity. Its useless data that only the ECU can respond to, and we all know what changes that useless fuel map is gonna make.
