I hope it stays that way for you. My problems (and lousy fuel economy) started just after my 100k warranty expired. Weird. :(

6.0's are great truck but you do have to stay on top of fuel/oil filter changes, and install a coolant filtration system to catch the sand that's in the castings, and either unplug or delete the EGR.

True, however some issues will still show up purely from the amount of engine hours and the variety of exterior weather conditions that are encountered.

My best friend has a 2012 that he’s put over 100k on in 2 years, I think it’s got 220 on it now. Only had a sensor go out on it

Today is 6 months with the taco. I’d be lying if I told you I’m not already planning on going to get one. Longest I’ve kept a vehicle in 2 years lol

I worked for my Dad for a while running heavy equipment. I used a 2003 F250 with the 7.3. Regularly had 12k lbs behind it. He sold it at 130k, no issues. Then he had a 2006 6.0, it was quicker and could tow the same weight but didn’t like doing it. 127k and the head gasket went (common if you didn’t get it studded). I then had a 2013 F150 with the 5.0, no issues and traded it at 130k for more cab space. Now I have a 2017 F150 with the 2.7 Eco, at 16k no issues. I’ve had a ton of heating pellets in the bed a few times, hauled almost 13k lbs behind it last weekend between heating pellets and trailer weight. It did it but was not happy. Kept it under 40mph and left plenty of room to stop (I do have a brake controller and trailer brakes). I’ve trailered my 4Runner multiple times with no issues. On my trailer it weighs about 6500 lbs. I’ve been happy with all my Ford trucks and I’ve been happy with all my Toyota trucks. I average 22 mpg combined in my 2.7, 27 mpg highway.

Studded/deleted with just a 50 hp tow tune.
It now has a 100 street tune but I need to pull the valve covers and find a bent pushrod since the long rods from the factory plus the shaving of the head when we studded it makes the pushrod a little bit too long.
Looks like it was filmed by a potatoe at the local track but oh well.

Ya...2012+ model years seem to have more of the bugs worked out. I thought I always knew to wait at least a model year before jumping the gun on ANY vehicle purchased, but the deal I got on the Ford made me look past that. Now I know why.

My sample size is much larger than your one bad experience. I will give this to you, ford dealers and their techs are pretty much the worst in hot business. Worst customer service, ever.
