    MT fanboy here.
Came from a Focus ST, knew I wanted a manual but drove the auto back to back just to see....knew I would have hated my life with that thing.
People give me the strangest looks when they see this shiny brand new truck and get in and see a stick hahaha it never gets old.

Core is still working on the 16+ v6 shifters.

Correct. He took measurements of my truck and another members. The beta should be done soon from the last time I talked to him.

I'm the other guy and plan on reviewing in full detail when the shifter arrives. Can't wait! I had a core/hurst shifter in my old Ranger back in the day and it was excellent.

So did you get it? Are you getting it? You'll need to provide an update! If you don't, you should let a fellow tacoma lover scoop it up ;)

Hey guys, do we know yet if manual 4wd tacos will be available in the 2019 model year? I guess they really cut back on the versions you could get for this model year, I'm wondering if this trend will continue for next year.

They only cut the 5 Speed Manual from the SR this year, I would guess the manual will stay at least until the 4th Gen.

Glad to see this thread is staying alive even though it's no longer a sticky.

Still waiting to hear from someone that has put the Hurst shifter in their 4 cyl manual. Really don't want to spend close to $300 until I can see what it looks like installed. Can't picture it with the existing boot.

    Anyone???

Thanks e64, still undecided. The noise complaint is a bit of a concern for me. In my old age I don't mind a quiet ride but the stock shifter is really kind of crap.

It's a little louder due to the stock isolation bushings from the OEM shaft not being there. The short B&M I had in my '07 wasn't too bad. It helped with shift points in my opinion.

It really doesn't sound that loud in the video on the 2nd Gen thread.

I've done a little research on the noise subject with Hurst shifters and it turns out Hurst has a noise reduction kit, which is just wrapping the screw joint with Dynamat. I figure applying even more Dynamat and a shift knob with dampening properties will do the trick.

Thinking about coming back to Tacomaworld. Currently driving a 5th gen 4runner that I have no complaints about, but I really miss the manual in my 17 Tacoma. A little hesitant though after my old taco ended up being a lemon.

What was wrong with the lemon?
